I'm Confused!!

Dear Cathe (or anyone who can help):

After reading a few messages I am becoming a little confused. I am 5'4" and 145 pounds and I am really trying to take off some of the extra weight. I am not sure if my workouts are right. I have been doing MIS two days a week with at least 3 to 4 days of cardio (spinning, treadmill or Cathe's step tapes).

I am not unhappy with my body except for that extra layer of fat. To lose the fat should I be concentrating more on cardio until I lose and then start weight training. I did MIS and then 40 minutes of cardio but that really wore me out. Is MIS cardio enough?

Thanks for any advice.

cardio/weights

Your best benefits come from doing both, but you do not have to do them on the same days. I don't know what your available days and times to exercise are, but if you DON'T do cardio and weights on the same day, your energy level will be much better for each activity. By the way, your varied cardio workouts at 3 to 4 times per week plus doing MIS two non-consecutive times per week is a great schedule. If after some time you are not seeing that layer of fat(that you are unhappy with)disappear, try altering the following:

1) Double check your diet to make sure its balanced and nutritious.

2) Lift heavier weights with the PS Series

3) Add on another day of cardio

4) Consider converting one of your typical cardio workouts to an interval workout(such as Intervalmax)

Good Luck!
