If you're stuck, get your thyroid tested

I've been hypothryoid shortly after the birth of my 3rd child over 5 years ago. And since October, I've been stuck at the same weight even though I've been tracking my food and exercising 5-6 days a week. I was getting pretty disgusted and thought maybe, just maybe I should have my thyroid tested. (It had been a while.) Well, I just got the results and wouldn't you know it, they're off. The doc is increasing my dosage and even though it will take 1-3 months before I see any changes, I have to say that I'm wildly relieved. I couldn't figure out for the life of me what I was doing wrong and why the weight wasn't coming off. I mean, Cathe's workouts are no walk in the park! Anyways, I wanted to share with you my frustration about my "plateau" and encourage you to have your thyroid tested if you have symptoms. Here's a link for more information and the symptoms of hypothyroidism. http://www.endocrineweb.com/hypo1.html

This is some very good information. I think it should be done at your yearly check up. I believe that there are many people walking around with over/under active thyroid and they don't even know it. It can be mistaken for depression. x(
