Paul Katami's Bootcamp 4x4x2!!  Paul Katami's Bootcamp 4x4x2
This workout is seriously awesome and perfect for HoCo and intensity junkies! Lots of body weight and plank type exercises intermixed with challenging cardio. Highly recommend!

The only negative with this workout for me is the lack of warm up. To get around this, I usually will do Cathe's Crossfire premix warm up ('cause she has the best warm ups in the biz) + firewalker tabata (just cause I lurve it), then put Paul in and keep going. Just wanted to share with all my kindred spirit Cathletes out there! :D

Thanks Cokonkel,

I was lurking at paul katami 4x4x2 circuit and I have decided now to add it.
I did Horizontal conditioning this morning for the first time ever. This has made me face the fact it is high time I *attack* my abs:eek:

I am also interested in his Kettlebell programs.
Have you ever done them?

Regards,

Regards,

I love his Burn and Build workout. It's right up there with 4x4x2, although I did it so much last year I sort of burned myself out on it. It's really fantastic, though. I had both his Kettlebell Drills and Kombos and honestly, I found those two had quite a few twisty/torque moves that were tough on my knees so I wound up trading those on VF. I haven't tried his new kettlebell ones, Ultimate kettlebell for beginners or Kettlebell Konnect so I can't speak to those.

His original Bootcamp 4x4 is also a really good, solid workout. It's easier than the new one, but still a worthwhile workout and one of my favorites.

You will love what Horizontal Conditioning does as far as improving your performance in other workouts. The core region, not just the abs but the entire trunk including low back and glutes, really is the powerhouse behind many of our movements. A weak core makes everything from plyometrics to push ups to running harder than it might otherwise be. Besides just aesthetic benefits, that's the biggest thing I noticed when I made HC a regular part of my routine. I still do them at least once a week, if not twice, and I still love it!

Looks killer! But too much high impact for my bad knee.:(

There is quite a bit of impact, but I found it wasn't as bad as the clips made it look. The tuck jump fest that Collage features on it's clip is one segment I do completely on the rebounder and it's perfect for that! No way I'm doing that segment on the floor! Do you have to stay completely away from impact or can you do some moves? You could always modify some of the impact if need be. I'll often substitute one of the low impact moves Cathe has taught me with LIS and Low Impact Hiit from XTrain if I find a move that seems iffy for my knees. If you have to avoid impact entirely though, this one might not be good for you.

One thing is for sure, the warm up in this one is definitely lacking. I have to do more warm up or else risk hurting my knees and ankles tremendously (hence preceding it with the Crossfire premix I mentioned). I find I can tolerate high impact MUCH better if I'm properly warmed up! :D

Whew!

I did this workout this morning and boy, is it tough! The last segment with the tuck jumps is killer! My first exposure to Paul and I have to say that I think he's great! Thanks for the input and the recommendation on the other two workouts. I've found that HC Bootcamp is just as tough or maybe tougher. Both awesome workouts!

HC Bootcamp is still, for me, the toughest workout I have in my collection! There is just something about going from horizontal moves (especially the push up variations Sandra does) to vertical plyo that just slays me!!
