If you break a mirror & no one is home to see/hear it.......

is it still 7 years bad luck?

OK so I confess, I'm a very superstitious person. I don't know why, except the woman who had more influence on me than any other--that would be my Nana--was 100% Albanian, a very superstitious ethnicity, & she taught me pretty much every old wives' tales known to woman. So it rubbed off on me & I really do stick to every single thing she taught me.

I have this huge full length mirror w/a very heavy wood frame. It hung in my hall & when I was at a family thing on Saturday it fell & shattered. I came home at 9 that night to quite a mess & yes, cut myself a few times (but managed to keep the pups clear) cleaning it up.

I've been fretting ever since that this'll bring me bad luck. Am I crazy? I mean, I'm really worried about it. I don't need anymore bad luck! Hopefully since it happened when I wasn't there the bad luck won't stick?

Laura - It fell and shattered while you were gone, so you're free and clear! ;) Now, if you were present and actual caused the "falling" or dropped the mirror, then maybe you could worry. I'm giving you a free pass on this one though. ;)

RE: If you break a mirror & no one is home to see/hear ...

You could break a mirror in Times Square with plenty of witnesses and you would NOT have 7 years of back luck--just a mess to clean up :p.
(I've broken several in my life so I speak from experience.) I'm very glad you and your pups didn't have more serious injuries cleaning up the glass!

Now, OTOH, if a black cat crosses your path while you are walking under a ladder during a full moon while spilling salt, that WOULD be cause for concern! :D

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

Whew, I am relieved! Because I wasn't there, right? Maybe I need to google this just to make sure.........

Just FYI, I do avoid black cats & walking under ladders, I love full moons but do my best not to leave the house when it's that time, & when I spill salt I toss a little over my left shoulder. :)
