If I said Mister Yuck, would you know what I meant?

I'm wondering who out there remembers Mister Yuck stickers? When I was a kid growing up, there were commercials on TV and stickers that Mom put on all the chemicals in the house and anything else we shouldn't touch.

Well, my Dad got me some of the stickers and now I am looking for that old commercial clip or the song online (to show my kids), and can't find it.

So where does everyone go to find stuff like this online? I'm sure I can find it, I just don't know where to look! (I think this might have been a regional thing because Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh created them, to the best of my knowledge.)

The song went something like "Mr. Yuck is MEAN.....Mr. Yuck is GREEN". After that, I don't know what it says, LOL!!

OMG,

Thanks so much for the links, Shana Banana!! I couldn't resist being a little fecetious when I titled this post!! (Hope I didn't offend anyone.)

Thanks again for the link, my kids are going to get such a kick out of it. (And the stickers do help keep them out of stuff.)

Hi Tricia. I coach a junior drill team and I always try to teach these girls a little about better health. We work on some of the names of the muscles in the body and good food choices. Now I'm not about to start telling these little girls what to eat (that's not the purpose of my group) but I did preach the evils of high fructose corn syrup and transfats (partially/full hydrogenated oils).

I went to my local pharmacy and they gave me a package of Mr. Yuck stickers -- like 500 pages of 10 stickers each. They use them for poison awareness with medicines, but I had my girls learn to read food labels and when they found the hfcs or transfats, they slapped a Mr. Yuck sticker on it. I did however apologize to all of the parents whose pantries became littered with Mr. Yuck stickers. Long way of saying your local pharmacy may have them too.

I love the idea of putting the stickers on items with HFCS/trans fats with the kids - brilliant! We'd also add MSG to our list of big no-no's that we are on the lookout for.

Takes me back to when I was a child my mom had these stickers that said "this is offensive to women" She'd put it on books, porno type of magazines, and the like. It really had an impression on me. Guess I grew up during the women's movement - and yeah for that!! That was about the time the book "Our Bodies, Ourselves" came out. Boy, I remember thumbing through that and gettin' a REAL education

Oh my gosh how funny-just today at work I was asking the pharmacist I work with if he remembers Mr. Yuck stickers and he said he had never heard of them and he is 65. I am 36 and I remember them as a child. How cool is this post. Thank you so much as soon as I saw if I said Mr. Yuck would you know what I meant? I went no way YES YES YES!

right click mr yuck and save target as (should say mp3). I think there is a link to download somewhere but don't remember now. There are a few of the commercials on youtube also. I got a small stack of stickers on ebay really cheap. i think he gets the huge set and breaks them up in smaller sizes to sell since I think you had to buy like 400 from the main site?
my kids watched it over and over they were so amused. ;) I think it works though my youngest was a bit scared of mr yuck after seeing the video ha.
