I wanted to workout so bad but have a headache

I really was looking forward to do the Gym Style Chest & Triceps today. I woke up with a little headache but decided that it won't stop me. As soon as I finished these push ups, my head was killing me. But still, I want to workout today. Really feel motivated and my body does not feel tired but my head hurts.

So I took 2 tylenol, lied down and relaxed for an hour and half and tried again. As soon as I started these push ups again, my head was getting worst. So I gave up.

This sucks...

I guess I don't really understand you. I get migraines and yes, there's no working out through them. If you have to take a day off from exercising because your head is killing you, then that's what you do. It's not so bad, one day. Your body is trying to tell you something. is it a tensions/stress headache? What's going on in your life? There could be matters to address.

It's the headache that sucks, not missing a day's workout. After all, there are worse things. Do you think there might be underlying reasons for the headache?

Hope you feel better soon,

Clare

Been there done that, too! Just yesterday in fact. And this morning I woke up with another headache and a head cold coming on. But I feel better now and hope to get a little workout in while my toddler naps (in a few minutes he'll be down for his nap). Somedays you just have to take it easy and pick up the slack the next day or the day after that.

There is something going around my town where everyone is dizzy and has headaches. Also, people are tired. some sort of virus... Anyway, it is especially difficult to do push ups when you have a headache due to all the pressure. Hopefully you can make up for it tomorrow and you will be all better.

yes I just rested. I had, for certain reason, to take 2 weeks off few weeks ago and I am trying to get stronger and get back but it always seem to be something stopping me and it's frustrating.

I am planning to stop drinking coffee and eating less cheese, I read somewhere that these 2 may cause headaches (off course many other reasons, but I think in my case it's that) and I eat TOO much cheese and coffee is obviously not good for you.

I always feel good and energetique but once in a while I get these severe headaches. It always seems when my diet is a bit bad. I had a huge good yummy salad today (get some vitamins). Tomorrow is a new day and I can't wait to wake up strong :)

Personally, I would talk to my physian if I had headaches like that. Just to be sure and to be safe nothing else is happening.
It's good that you're listening to your body and backing off of working out.

A nice walk, accompanied by deep breathing (unless you live in a big city, LOL!) can get you moving and perhaps even help with the headache if it's a tension headache. Hatha yoga (with no inverted poses) could help as well. (But if you try these and the headache feels worse again, don't try to work through it).

I once had a headache that lasted for weeks. At times, it felt like the dull side of an axe blade was lodged in my head---and at others like a big knife was in there. When I tried to do bench presses, it really got bad, so I went to the emergency room, which was the start of all kinds of tests, from x-rays to Cat scans to MRI's. I finally went to a chiropractor, and after living with almost constant pain for weeks (and no answers from tests and doctors), it cleared up after 3 adjustments.

Just to let you know: there may be some spinal misalignment that is causing the headaches (and especially if they occur on waking--the way you slept may have caused something to slip out of allignment).
