I have never done or known anyone who has participated in ww. Since joining this forum i have seen the word "core" alot and have seen mention of using it. What is it and has anyone had big results with it? I am curious because i am looking for something to try, but i wanted some opinions first. Thank in advance for any responses! Have a great day! :) :)

jes,
I have been on core for one week at WW. I am now on their "flex" plan. I think their "core" program is a great one if you can stick to this kind of program. It mostly consists of foods that you would equate with "clean" eating.

There are lists of foods on the core program that you pick and choose from, things like lean meats and poutlry, eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables, beans and legumes, whole wheat pasta, oatmeal and brown rice.

You don't have to "count" these foods like you do on the flex plan. You just eat until you are satisfied. You get 35 "flex points" per week to spend on top of your core foods to spend on things like cream in your coffee, going out for pizza, alcoholic drinks, a piece of birthday cake, etc.

The reason why I switched so quickly is for accountability. I try to eat mostly core but sometimes I would have something that wasn't core and this was happening more and more. I decided if I counted all of my points per day and stayed in my point range it would give me more control because I am staying within a certain number of calories.

I have been on WW for 2 weeks, I have lost 7 pounds. I know mostly water, but hey I will take it.

The website will let you take a tour of the different plans.

Good luck,
Lori

Jes,

I've been a WW member since mid-July and have lost 23 lbs. so far (with only 7 more till my goal weight--WOO HOO). I'm on their flex program but I've heard VERY good things about the "core" program. People have had great success with it. I don't have the will-power that "core" requires to push away when I'm satisfied. If I like the taste, I'll eat it ALL! I also like my carbs to much! I think those two reasons are why I'm at WW. ;)

I find this the EASIEST "diet" in the world! I actually think it's a life style, not a diet.

Also the meetings I go to are small (around 7-10 people) so it's always fun, and super friendly, where everyone gets a chance to talk. It seems more like a type of "coffee Klatch (sp?)" instead of a instructional meeting.

EDITED TO SAY:
Good luck on "core" and keep us posted on your success!
