I think I've committed a downloading sin

I have been downloading workouts for the past year, and in the interest of space on my hard drive, once I move them to iTunes, I delete the file.

I am just starting to use workout blender, and think that may have been a big mistake, as I cannot drag the files from iTunes to WB.

Do I have to redownload all the workouts I have purchased so far? The LIS series is still fresh for me, but the others I may not have access to. Will SNM let me re-download the 16 or so workouts I purchased in the past?

Should I move my downloads to an external drive and mix & match them from there?

How badly have I messed up??

Bridget

You haven't messed up! All you need to do is go into your Music > iTunes > iTunes Music > Movies folder. All of the Cathe videos should be located there. You can leave them there and drag them into the Workout Blender from that location and they will work fine (however, once you import them into the Blender, don't move them out of the iTunes folders!). When you import them into the Blender, it only reads the video but does not actually move or change the original files, so they will continue to work with iTunes and the Workout Blender. Hope this helps.

Thanks Curtis- I just made my first workout- and I found the folder on my HD that it was stored on and moved it to iTunes. Does this process create new videos- again, using precious HD space, or does WB just pull each chapter from the original workout and play them as I assign them to my home made workout?

To answer your question, Yes and No. The Workout Blender does not copy your video, it only reads from the original file, so it will not use up any more disc space by merely importing the file into it. However, if you mix videos of different aspect ratios/resolutions (depending upon the age of our files, these both vary), it will create new video rendered at the "standard" that the Blender uses to create the workouts. So in this case, it will be creating new videos of ONLY the chapters you use in workouts that require rerendering (so disc space usage is kept at the minimum it possibly can). Hope this explains it!

ZBridget, if what Curt suggested doesn't work, try dragging and dropping the videos you want to use to the desktop. Then drag and drop them from there and into the WB. That should fix it for you.

I tried putting the file on my desktop and it does produce the picture cover, and it plays, but when I drag it into the workout blender, it goes and says it is importing, but it never actually does. Is the file not really there to do this anymore?

I found the files in the iTunes folder in my finder and was able to drag them into WB, and make a primitive workout.

I'm looking forward to the review of iTV this week- this may be my next Cathe purchase

Zbridget, glad it worked for you.

aussiekers, what kind of computer are you using? If you are using a Mac running Lion, this is what happens when you try to use the Workout Blender because it will not yet run under Lion. If you are using something other than Lion, please let me know and I will try to help you.

THANK YOU. Holy smokes, I did the same thing and thought I was toast.
