I survived Vegas with my 21 Year old

We asked DD what she wanted for her 21st birthday. She said she wanted to go to Las Vegas so she could legally gamble and drink. I figured she would go hog wild and be out of control, because before the trip all she talked about was drinking,but she surprised us. She only gambled a little and only tried a couple of different drinks while there. We saw a show and mostly did sight seeing stuff. I think DH and I might have raised her to be a responsible adult. Not sure how that happened, but I'm proud of her. Although I can't deny that I was a teensy bit disappointed in not seeing her get a little tipsy. LOL

LOL Jean, would have been funny to see her tippsy. Kind of funny with some kids, all talk and no action - good thing though. Speaks a lot for your skills though.

Believe me I wanted to get tipsy myself, but she had a friend with her and I didn't want to totally make a fool of myself. Plus if she and I both had gotten tipsy, I think my DH would have been on the first flight out and left us there. LOL.

Jean, what great news! Glad the trip was a fun success!!! You should be very proud of your DD and also of yourself and your DH - you DID raise a responsible young woman, that's plain to see!

My son Alex turns 21 on March 30 and I don't expect any WAHOO!! behaviors out of him, either. We've been really pleased by how measured and responsible he's already shown himself to be as a young man. I imagine, though, that he'll have to go out with friends and have a legal beer or two -- that seems necessary!

Jean, is this not THE weirdest feeling, to have your child be an official adult?? I can't get used to the idea. Having him turn 20 was bad enough!

We tell Alex not to get too cocky about being 21 because in the world of adults he's an infant. ;-)
