I still hate cardio, June 12th

Michele, Ha, you can still do cardio with everyone around. Get everyone together and put on some really annoying cardio workout. Then you have done your cardio and no one will want to visit with you again because they will be afaid of you and then you won't be able to say you couldn't do your cardio. Let no one stand in the way of your cardio!
Okay, so it's stupid, but..........today is the last day of school so I am not working out but summer starts tomorrow and there will be no excuses. Back to six days per week. What fun!
Everyone have a great day!
Kate

Kate!! You're a genius! I'm going to drag out my step and put LIS in the DVD player! Actually, that's exactly what I'm going to do. My nephew will be around until Sunday so I won't be on the boards much this week. I must say we're having a very nice visit. We've been to see X-Men and we've watched some Star Trek DVD's that he brought along, we've been out to eat, etc. I think we're going to an aquarium one day this week, and there's another movie he'd like to see.

I better get going. Kate, congratulations on your last day of school, but I'm expecting to see mega cardio tomorrow:7 .

Dana, August, Janjan, MJ, Diane..have a great day and I'll try to check in later. Don't think I've abandoned you, I'm just trying to entertain a 12 year old:eek: :7

Hey, you!

Hahaha, you could have titled the last few threads The Kate Show.

I'm glad you were having fun with your cardio all these days that nobody was watching. You are good! You are good! I bow to you!

I did my KM this morning and did one blast. Yeah, that's right, ONE blast.

Those friggen blasts. And here I thought I was doing two already. How many blasts are there, anyway?

Kate, I've been increasing my pushups one every other day and I've gotten to the point of where I'm starting to feel fear :-( . By the last couple of them I'm practically laughing out loud (and cursing to myself).

I switched my eating plan. I mean, still BFFM, just different macs (no, not Big Macs - hey, where's MJ anyway?). I also learned something really important - the amount of protein I should be eating should come from the actual protein source and I'm not to sweat the veggie protein source which is an "incomplete protein." And I was eating MAJOR veggies, girls. Plugged into fitday, and all those veggies I was trying to eat for carbs was adding up in protein, so I had been subtracting from my protein to balance things up. I was practically eating a marble's worth of meat  ! No wonder I've been so dang hungry! DANG!

Anyway, I'm so thankful I prepared up my ratios and I'm all set.

Tomorrow is L&G.

P.S. My kitchen is clean.

P.P.S. Oh, hi, Michele! I see you posted as I was typing away! Have fun with your nephew. He sounds adorable! Don't let him see you in pain from pushups now. ;)

Hi August!!

I HATE BLASTS!!--lol!

I'm glad you had a BFFM breakthrough. Oh my, how have you been able to eat so many veggies and so little meat? Keep us posted on how the protein affects your stats.

I challenged my nephew to a push-up contest. He's supposed to be able to do his weight in push-ups by his next birthday, so that'll be 13 by August. :) I can do 5 now but I haven't attempted any yet today.

Okay, enough! I have to go now.

*MWAH*

Hey everyone,

Well it was a busy weekend as usual. I made DH get up first thing on Sat and help me clean the house, ok so all he did was sweep the downstairs, but we have a lot of tile so he was the sweeper and I was the mopper (yeah it was not fair at all) anyway, clean house bottom line. Well tomorrow is surgery day! I hate surgery, but am looking forward to feeling better. So wish me luck!

I hate to be short, but short on time today. Got to get crap for class done before tomorrow. I hope everyone had a fab weekend!

Michele-go for it on the push ups! You can do it! High step challenge. That's what I think you should get. Good cardio, good challenge and good workout.

Ok you guys have a great day I will check back in later!

Hello Everyone -

I was did not do my planned workouts this weekend, too busy relaxing. I tried to make up for it with a run this morning, but could only run for about 20 min before collapsing. I was late to work because it took me 30 min to cool down, it is hot outside!

So I am working on getting back into shape. Working out has stopped becoming a habit that I feel the need to do each day, so I have got to work on that.

Sounds like everyone has a clean house! DH and I tackled our last big clutter zone inside the house, the closet in my workout room. We just sort of stuff all the things we don't know what to do with in there, but eventually it will have to be cleaned out anyway because that will someday be a nursery (hopefully someday soon). Then I will have to work out in the guest room. Not very much room in there.

Okay, this is my last post and then I truly have to go (my little nephew is waiting for me).

Janjan, check your email.

Diane, you needed the rest more than you needed to run. I wonder if you shoud do all your running indoors during the summer months. Does your gym have an indoor track? I don't know how anyone can bear that Texas heat.

My house isn't clean but I'm working on it.;)

I'm done for the day..for real this time--lol!!

I just quit the gym, but they just have treadmills. I am trying to cut back on expenses here! I am also letting my housekeeper go today. I am really scared to do it for some reason. She is such a nice lady and I know she needs the money, but I also need to save it too. When we had my sister-in-law over this weekend, she said "Did the maid just come, this is the cleanest I have ever seen it" but the housekeeper hadn't come for 1 1/2 weeks, I was just doing it myself. I think I do a better job too. So no point in paying her to do what I just did a couple days ago. But I still hate letting her go.

So I'm still here...but this is really , really my last post of the day--lol!

Diane, I had forgotten that you quit the gym. I don't blame you and the savings really adds up. I had to quit using a personal trainer because I just couldn't justify the expense. I mean, (and no insults intended here) the PT's had certifications but no real education. Heck, I can read as well as they can. I was spending about $40 and hour for personal trainers that had less formal education than I had.

I don't blame you for letting the cleaning lady go either. If you're worried about it why not just cut her back to every 3 or 4 months to do big jobs like cleaning chandeliers or other ceiling fixtures, and washing down kitchen and bathroom cabinets? This way, if you should end up in a position where you can't keep up at home because of your obligations at work, you will still have an inside track to her services. Also, this will give you an opportunity to test over time if you can manage using Flylady principles. Just a thought.

Ciao for now for real:)

Michele - Your nephew is going to do his pushups in weight...which means...13 by August?! You mean to tell me that kid is 13 pounds?! He needs to eat some protein LOL! And are you still online? I should have thought to do my pushups by weight. In kilos.

Janjan - Tomorrow's the big day? WOO HOO! New knee just around the corner!! Here's wishing you lots of good vibes!

Diane - I know about that exercising falling out of the habit thing. The thought of that happening is frightening! A year ago I'd have never thought I'd be so into exercising 6 days a week. I can't imagine not doing it now. I'm sure once you get into the groove it'll take on that brushing-your-teeth quality. I hope the house helper situation with letting her go will go all right. But she probably has a sense of the possibility of that happening what with you and DH cleaning up so much. Michele's idea of having her do a few big cleans in the year sounds like a nice idea, too.

AGE!! I meant AGE in push-ups--lol!

I'm going now, right now, this very minute, I am leaving, I am turning my computer off--lol! My sweet nephew has been sitting quietly and reading a book for over an hour:+ We're off to the inlaws!

I thought about cutting her back to once a month or every three weeks or something, but that still doesn't make sense when I am doing the same work already. If I completely feel off the flylady wagon at some point, I know she would come back if we asked her. She doesn't really do the "spring cleaning" type jobs, and I have been doing those things already with my "zone" work detailed cleaning. When I cleaned the kitchen cabinets and plantation shutters, it made me realize she never does that stuff. Also, I can hire a cleaning service for "spring cleaning" for the same price that I would pay my housekeeper for a month's work. I think it is better to have 2-3 people come for 6 hours than make that poor women do all that work by herself over the period of a couple days. When we first bought the house, we had a cleaning service come in and do a deep cleaning before our housekeeper came so she wouldn't have to do that kind of work. So I am just going to bite the bullet and do it. DH has promised to help out with cleaning when I am either super busy at work, sick or preggers. So I am just going to go through with it.

Hey Diane-I made the same decision with the housekeeper when we moved and I have not looked back. Since we went up in sq.feet I did not think I was going to be able to take care of the baby, work on the degree, get some exercise in, etc..etc...and still remain sane, but it has worked out fine. My housekeep too did not do the heavy stuff and I felt like I cleaned better than her anyway. You are right with what you are saying and if needed you can do like you said hire a cleaning service to do all the real heavy stuff. We also did the same when we bought this house had it deep cleaned and it has stayed pretty clean. I know you feel bad, but the money can go towards other things, like paying down school loans! Uhh...!
