I REALLY don't like GWF's new software!

As of today I can't sync my armband at all. It was working fine last night. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software, and checked to make sure the USB connection is working (works fine with other things). And I can't usually even get into the Activity Manager unless it's through the syncing because Launch sends me into an endless login loop. I am not a happy camper today, needless to say. No response from GWF about either of these problems, although the syncing problem was just reported to them today. I haven't checked my paperwork yet to see what the warranty time is.

I was able to sync to my home computer just fine with good information after doing a software upgrade this morning. I decided to try the computer I was having issues with when I uploaded yesterday and found it's doing the same thing. I did run a registry cleaner on this computer so I'm guessing that screwed something up. At least I know I can use one of my PCs until I get the problem resolved on the other.

Nancy, My problem is different because it does claim to sync, but it retrieves bogus info (no steps or activity get uploaded). It's as if the unit is off body, yet it thinks it is on body. If I do fix it I'll let you know what I did.
 
For those having issues, I used the online customer service email form, had a reply fairly quickly, and they replaced my GWF at no charge.

I have used that for several things and found that they close my case (when I look at the status I see this) without contacting me and no answer/resolution to the query. The first time was just a suggestion I had about adding fiber to the individual entry NI and not just having the total in the summary. So no reply was just rude, not really important. The second case they closed out was my problem with getting into the login loop and not being able to launch the Activity Manager. They replied to my e-mail/form with a statement they should be able to fix it on their end -- and then nothing. I noticed it was closed out and I still have the problem.

I just a few minutes ago got a reply concerning my syncing problem, asking whether I am able to register my armband. Huh? I registered it when I got it six months ago. Does that mean I'm supposed to register it again?

Sorry to vent here. I'll stop now. :rolleyes:
 
I finally got the display matching my armband again!! I just checked it this morning and it finally works just the way it did BEFORE they did their "upgrade." Yay!

I gotta tell ya, I wrote them a pretty terse email telling them my problem was not "closed" as I didn't suddenly start wearing the armband upside down after 6.5 months of use! :mad: I was annoyed w/ their patronizing email response re: their uber complex algorithms that were beyond the comprehension of mere mortals. I suggested they go back & check their algorithms for metabolic burn as someone probably changed something during the software upgrade & that's what was creating the difference. I don't care how complex the equation is, math is replicable and if your calcs aren't matching, your math is wrong somewhere.

Lo and behold, they came out w/ another upgrade w/in the next couple of days. When I first downloaded it last week, there was no improvement. Today, when I downloaded my unit data & re-synced it, everything matched up. :)

Good luck Nancy--maybe a stronger tone in your email will get their attention??
 
Joan, I guess we have you to thank for the nice software upgrade, then. Way to go! I did get a little testy in my correspondence with them yesterday and based on some today I expect I will be getting things straightened out.

LOL! I'm sure mine wasn't the only one! Legions of ticked off, calorie burning, arm band right side up GWF users probably wrote similar emails--some w/ actual math calcs in them, no doubt. :p At some point, GWF decided to actually READ the emails and put the proverbial 2 + 2 together and "Gee, the problem started when we upgraded the software. Let's connect the dots..." Voila, a customer service miracle ensued.

I hope your problems are resolved soon, Nancy. I'm pretty addicted to mine. My left arm feels naked when I'm not wearing it!
 
I don't see it anywhere on my page. Just to launch the activity manager and then it has my name. Is this something new since everyone has been having problems? Sorry to sound like an idiot, but I am just not seeing it.

On the Activity Manager page it is on the upper right hand corner -your name, then the close option, then it should say "BodyMedia Sync version 1.0.7 available", and to the right of that is a blue "click here to down load button".

The upgrade corrected the issues we were having with the new website gowear fit/body media conversion.

that does help,but mine does not have the upgrade thing. Just my name and close. I will try emailing support and see what happens. Thanks for your help
