i miss Sex And The City and The Sopranos!!!

i just watched a re-run on TBS. it's so edited it's not even funny. i wish it wasn't over. i am a huge fan of most of the HBO series. no commercials! i am very disturbed to hear that the next and final;( season of sopranos isn't supposed to air until 2006! that could be a rumor, but dh heard it on the radio the other day. i can't wait that long! has anyone else heard about that?

Yep, 2006. Last season was about the same wait time. I don't know why it takes so long - Cathe can manage to put out two series' a year, why can't they? Lets face it, it's not nearly as challenging :)

I miss SATC too but desperate houswives is filling that void for now.

Six Feet Under is due to start again soon but I just read that it's going to be there last season :( I'm more sad to see that show go than any of them.
 
yes SFU is comming to an end. that sucks! i love that one too. the new HBO stuff is not as good. i don't get to watch sesperate housewives unless i'm at someone else's house. i have the dish and no cable. but the ones i have seen are funny. not as good as SATC though.

I don't get HBO so I really didn't know what everyone was talking about with "Sex and the City". So I was really glad when they started airing it on TBS. But I wanted to watch them in order and TBS wasn't showing them in order. So a friend of ours loaned me all the seasons (except part two of season 6 since it isn't released yet) and YES the ones on TBS are so edited that I can't even stand to watch them on TBS. I came home every night from work and watched at least 5 or 6 episodes in a row. I was so addicted to it. I found myself feeling like I was one of the girls. I haven't seen how it ends since it's not out yet on DVD. I think my favorite characters were Carrie and Charlotte. My husband and I were watching the one (on TBS of course) where Samantha is dating that guy with "funky spunk" and they edited out so much that my husband was confused at what was even going on. They wouldn't even use the word "spunk". I know they have to edit out the nudity and language for TV but I feel that it was a show that shouldn't have even been put on regular TV because it has to be edited so much. Just my opinion. Anyway, I'd kind of like to watch the Sopranos also.

Boy do I miss SITC! I like Desperate Housewives, but it doesn't come close to filling the SITC void. Maybe b/c I'm a single woman in my 30s living near NYC & could identify w/the SITC girls much more. Loved the fact that they made being single & in your 30s not just OK, but also desirable.
 
I miss them all too! I don't even think they've started filming the last season of the sopranos yet!!! I know the last one took so long b/c of contract disputes w/ James Gandolfini and some other crap!!! I actually enjoyed the first part of the first season of Deadwood, but after they killed Kieth Carrodine in like the third episode it went way downhill. That was a BIGGG mistake for them to kill him off so soon!!!!! At least we can buy or rent the SITC dvd's and have watching parties with our girlfriends and drink cosmopolitans in our pj's!!!!!!
 
I miss Buffy the Vampire Slayer! I just got done watching the 7th--and last-season DVD's. No more!
 
You know I lived vicariously through those characters. I never thought I'd want to go to New York until I started watching SATC. Then I saw how exciting it must be.

I miss ALL of them too! It's hard to pick a favorite, especially between Sopranos and Six Feet Under...and yeah, loved Sex and the City...I even was sort of getting into Carnivale...that one's pretty "out there", lol...I think the season actually is gonna start back up for that one again soon. Hubby was into Deadwood when that was on...HBO has the best line-up...oh, and Curb Your Enthusiasm! Loved that one too...don't know if that one's coming back or not!
 
I am in total Sopranos withdrawal. I missed the season that wrapped up a few months ago and have been waiting for the reruns. I believe they are currently on HBO2, but I don't have that channel. So, it's been like two years without them, waaaah;( I'm not missing SATC as much as I thought I would, and I'm not even going near the TBS reruns. The first season of the L-Word was pretty cool, so I'm looking forward to see that start up again. LOST & Desperate Housewives are good, but you just can't beat the Sopranos, IMHO!
 
sopranos is my favorite too. bur ironically, i didn't start watching until the 6th season and it was half over. so when it finished i went to blockbuster and rented seasons 1-5. each season is about 13 hrs long and i watched all 5 in 3 days! i couldn't get off the couch! now i wished i had watched them slower so i would not dying to find out what happens next.....

I really miss SITC too. I like watching the reruns but I sure wish they were still making new ones. That was my favorite show.
