I can't tell you how much I love these new short workouts. My strength training was starting to really get uninspired, but boy the CTX series has changed that.
I got my new videos on Friday, did Leaner Legs on Saturday; Step & Intervals and 10-10-10 on Sunday; Power Circuit and Kickbox yesterday and today finished up with All Step. I had no intention of doing them all so soon, but after starting the CTX series, I just couldn't quit. The cardio sections are tough, intense, varied and short. Knowing that I'll only be doing cardio for 30 minutes gives me added courage to give it my all. Even the intervals are a blast! Except those power scissors in Kickbox. I'm afraid my kids may have learned some new vocabulary words during the second set of 32.
I really enjoyed the new moves -- loved that mambo on the step and the kick with the mambo in Step & Intervals. And I WILL get that rock, mambo, hop around, march march, turning triple shuffle into an up and back in All Step. I will, I will!
As much as I am enjoying the many new ways to reach the cardiac arrest training zone, I am just blown away by the strength work . Each segment seemed to go by so fast. This may be the first time in my life I actually enjoyed doing biceps work. I loved the changing tempos and I really liked the introduction of "giant sets" on the triceps and the shoulder work. The music in the strength training sections is really great too -- all instrumental and just beautiful. And the stretch segments are the best that Cathe has ever done. In fact, aside from my yoga videos, they are the best stretches of any videos I own. And the abdominal work -- WOW! My favorite ab work is at the end of the Kickbox routine, but it's a close tie with the Meaner Legs ab work. I haven't done the ab work at the end of Power Circuit yet, so I can't judge too soon!
Thank you for putting this set together. There are just so many ways to combine them with each other and with my existing Cathe collection and still get a great workout in less than an hour. What fun.
Oh -- and I love the opening segment on the videos -- very James Bondish! Love to see Cathe kicking away the letters of her name -- you go, girl!
Forgive my gushing. It feels so good to be excited about strength training again. Thanks for all the hard work, Cathe and Step n Motion.
