I know I'm getting stronger, because...

...when I was in the store yesterday, I was carrying around one of those handheld baskets, filling it up, then went over and picked up an 8 lb. bag of charcoal and carried it all up to the registers without even feeling like it was getting heavy. A few months ago I would've been feelin' it!

Thanks to the GS and Slow & Heavy series!!!!

So, how do you know when you're getting stronger?

When I can carry two gallons of water, my purse and my lunch all the way accross the parking lot (I park at the furthest end to get a good workout) and all the way to my desk at work without getting winded :)

Regarding the dog food: It makes me feel like superwoman when they ask, "Do you need help with that?" when I'm buying two 20 lb. bags of pet food and I say, "Nope. I've got it." and I hoist both bags up and over my shoulders and walk out. She-ra, Queen of the Nile!

I am Catwoman - hear me ROAR! AAAHHRR!

I was able to carry my new Dyson 17 vaccuum cleaner from the furthest corner of the store to the checkout, hoist it up on the counter, lift it back up and carry it out to the car without being winded....and the little checkout boy had a shocked look on his face when I did!;-)

I just purchased 8lbs dumbbells and when I put them on the counter at the checkout, the sales clerk said "Boy these are really heavy!" She struggled to lift one weight with both hands. I, on the other hand, picked it up with one hand like it was a piece of lint!!!}(

I really notice I'm getting stronger when I carry in my groceries from my car. I notice that I can put more bags in my hands and make shorter trips. :9

Don't you just love that? I help one of my kids with a paper route a couple of days a week and at 115 lbs. I carry 60-80lbs of paper on my body in a bag that loads front and back with ease...walking at a pretty good clip! Talk about core and lower back work...Thank you Cathe and hurray to us because we know what is good for us and do it!deb:)

Quite a while ago a girl from work and I were talking about dumbells and I said I use 5's, 8's and 10's (I have a lot more than that now) and she was really surprised because she uses 2's and 3's! Now I rarely use the 5's and mostly use 9's, 10's, 12's and 15's.

This morning I was carrying my computer case, a gallon of water, lunch and my purse. I realized I had to get to my badge, so I transfered everything to one hand and got my badge and opened the door - while holding everything else in a half-way-up bicep hold. The two engineers (both men) behind me were staring in awe.
