So I complained to my bf about how I wasn't happy in my job and needed something more to life, etc etc. etc. He started asking me what I always wanted to do as a kid and I said own a business, write a book. He tells me I should put a business plan together. Doesn't he come to my office later with a large leather portfolio he bought with expensive pens and a cute journal and writing paper. The portfolio is supposedly for writing a business plan and ideas for my book. Now I feel the pressure is on...haha...but it was such a beautiful sentiment. Men always want to fix things... I'm learning quickly. I really just wanted to release my feelings and send a couple resumes out

Complain away, men do love to fix instead of listen. OTOH, your sweetie is all about you being happy and encouraging you to go for your dreams!

I love that he did that for you!!! I was fortunate enough to read one page of that book "Men are from Mars Women are from Venus" years ago and it said precisely what dragonfly just did-- men hear someone complain and they try to FIX IT while women want to hear them out.

Good thing it takes all kinds, right? Sooo sweet of him, though. Sounds like he was trying to encourage you to be happy the best way he knows how.
