I just want to thank all you smarty pants

Today one of my friends e-mailed me and said "I can't lose any more weight. I don't understand. I'm eating a protein bar for breakfast and a healthy choice frozen dinner for lunch and skipping dinner." I thought to myself "are you serious? You think that's a healthy diet and wonder why you aren't losing weight?". Then I realised that without everything I have learned from you ladies, my thinking didn't used to be so different. This is an awesome board and I would never be as healthy without it.
 
I agree. I have a very lovely friend who is trying to lose weight. She lost a bunch a long time ago on one of those diet-center diets and thinks that is the way to go. She told me she knows she has to cut about 500 calories from her daily diet! I was thinking I wouldn't even be able to get out of bed! I just feel bad because you try to help out a little and share information and people don't want to hear what you have to say.

Let me commiserate with you...

My boss is about six foot three inches tall and he weighs just over 200 pounds. For lunch, he eats a half of samdwich on low carb bread with a non-calorie flavored water. Sometimes he treats himself to a small piece of fruit along with that. No breakfast. Low carb bar just after lunch (the candy ones, not the protein ones. *Somewhat* normal dinner.

Meanwhile, here you have me with a three course lunch, big breakfast, snack again at three o'clock. }( He says that I can eat like that b/c I work out (one hour) every day. Because of that I can eat carbs and eat lots of food but he can't. He isn't losing but he is still convinced that it works.

....I thank these boards a lot too. I wasn't as goofy in my thinking as some people I know but the knowledge I have gained allowed me to add an extra meal into my day and learn the better foods to eat for more fuel.
