I have a shoulder injury?!?!?

This is extremely frustrating! I've never had any serious injury before, and certainly not from working out. Then, pretty suddenly yesterday (Tuesday), my right shoulder started hurting when I moved my arm in certain ways. I hadn't done any weight workout since doing Power Hour on Saturday. I have done Power Hour probably hundreds of times, but the one difference last time was that I finally increased my barbell to 40 lbs for the squats at the beginning of the workout. I remember thinking it was pretty difficult to lift it up over my head. (I can't remember if I kept that weight for any other exercises, but probably not!)

Anyway, I didn't notice any pain after that on Saturday, Sunday (no workout) or Monday (MIC, no weight work), then my shoulder started hurting at some random point yesterday. In spite of that, I went ahead with cardio (10-10-10), then back, chest and abs from CTX last night. The pain didn't seem to get much worse after the workout than before. It actually feels like a bruise on the bony top part of my right shoulder. Sometimes I can move my arm in all directions without pain, then just a few minutes later I just *think* about moving my arm and the slight twitch is excruciating! My boyfriend told me it sounds exactly like when he had an inflamed rotary cuff in high school, and the only thing to do is rest the muscle until the pain goes away. I'm hoping that's all, and I'm hoping it doesn't hurt for very long.

The most frustrating part is that I was finally beginning to think I was seeing definition in my arms, after working out to Cathe's videos for well over a year (and several years of gym memberships before that). I hate the thought of putting off shoulder workouts until the pain stops!!

Anyway, I don't know if I really have a question or not, maybe I just wanted to vent. But, if anybody else here has had this problem, how long did it take you to "get better" and did you have to go to a doctor?

Well this may be a slightly different situation but I can relate.
After a back injury that made working out difficult for a couple of months, I found out about Cathe. My other workout videos just weren't cutting it so I ordered Muscle Max (at that point my back was much better). Before I even got it, I fell off a motorcycle (ok kinda crashed) right on my left shoulder, hard. I had it xrayed and there was no permanent damage, but damage or no it hurt like the dickens!
Anyway, that was on Dec. 27th. I was just able to start Muscle Max
on Feb. 1st. So in my case I needed about a month to heal. It was right on the top bone in my shoulder. It still looks a little more prominent than the other side. My DH thinks it a bruise on the bone.
Anyway, you will want to be very careful and rest. Ice and perscription strength Aleve helped me some and when you do start back do a couple of "warm up" type workouts. I started with a circuit with 5 and 8 lb dumbells before I moved on to muscle max.
Good luck.
