I have a question about heart rate while pregnant?

Hello everyone,

I am sooo happy that I can post again. Recently I got a virus from posting but now I am protected. Anyway.... I was wondering if any of you guys track your heart rate while working out. I know that the doctors say not to go above 140 while pregnant, but for me that is just not enough to even work up a sweat.

I think the 140 heart rate is old news....I was never told that by my doc. I was told just to not work out to the point where you are gasping for air or to exhaustion, etc. Just be smart about it...that is what I was told and what I did and it worked out great!

HTH!:)

Wendy's right, Mary. Ages ago Cathe posted a great discussion about exercise intensity while pregnant, and she mentioned that the 140 guideline was no longer applicable, but to use the "talk test." If you can say 2-5 word sentances while you're exercising, then you're right where you should be.

Cheers,
Sandra
