I have a confession.

Talking about the low, low-rider pants....I just have to tell you guys:

I hate going to the grocery store because it is ALWAYS so friggin cold in there winter or summer, I never know what to buy as my son is the most finicky eater (I thought I raised him better...), plus the fact that I hate to cook.

All of that was to let you know the mood I am generally in when going grocery shoppingx( . So....I go in and first is the produce isle...there is this young girl who is at least 20 or 30 pounds overweight, bending over arranging items on the shelf. Not only was there lots of fat hanging out between her shirt and her low pants, but her thong was prominently showing along with her butt crack!! It was disgusting!!

I'm sure she must have thought I was a total B%t%h, because I know she could see the look of total disgust on my face!

Pray tell me....do they really think this might be sexy?!?!?

I like the look of slightly low-cut jeans that are about 1/2" or so below the belly button, BUT:
Like crop tops, they should only be worn by those they look good on: no overhangs allowed!
3" or so below the belly button is too much. Just say no to crack!

Yesterday, as my students were doing group work and I was walking around to check on them, I saw that one of my students was wearing low-cut jeans...with thermal underwear underneath! And it wasn't low-cut thermal: about an inch or more of it stuck up in back when she was seated. (I don't understand people not testing their clothing: seeing if it works when you sit, looking at your back view to see if you have pantyline).

Oh definatly detest shrugs and ponchos (although I do remember wearing ponchos as a child........they ARE quiet warm)

Low riders with UCLY DIRTY thongs

White knee socks with sandles - guys are at fault with this one TOO!

Short Short skirts (usually denim) that are SO short, you can see the under crease of their buttocks when they walk

I for one love the little shrugs and shaws- low rise jeans(no crack)I think of the shrugs and shaws as accesories for my low rise jeans and I look darn cute in them too:p I just love fashion and will pretty much buy anything if I see it often enough. You should see my shoes-my husband says it's a wonder I don't break my neck and that I have to many.}( NOT!!;-)

Ya know,

All of this makes you wonder where the "mothers" are!?!

I work with alot of college students...basically helping prepare them for the business world. Mostly guys, but occasionally we have a really sharp young lady.

The one young lady that we have now is really a 'go getter' but doesn't have a clue on how to dress professionally. So she asked me to take her shopping for business suits. Which, of course, I was happy to do.

The one thing I did have to stress to her was the need for more feminine underwear. Poor thing was trying to wear 'bloomers' with her suit pants and skirts. So it was "pantyline" central! So we then went shopping for undergarments, as she was also wearing sports bras with her blouses. (go figure!?!)

I don't like the low-rise can I show you my thong look either, on thin or heavy girls.

One thing that goes through my head when I see a too heavy girl wearing a get up like this is "at least she doesn't have body image issues". I would rather see that than an anorexic teenager or woman.

I guess I live in the boon dox (sp?) I haven't seen a shrug around here---EVER. Maybe the trend hasn't made it my direction yet but that's ok.;)

I never buy something that I think won't stay for long. I usually try to buy pieces of clothes that look neutral or classic, so I can use them for at least four years. But I also don't like to look very outdated. However, I do like ponchos and I find some of the trends today beautiful. I didn't buy them, though, for the reasons I already explained. I am 26 years old and like to dress sexy, but not too revealing. I hate that some people take for granted things like wearing a thong under a mini skirt or under a low jean. I use a short lycra under mini skirts. I do have low jeans and I hate that I have to be very careful not to show my butt, but I bought them in a hurry and didn't try them in the store. I won't buy new ones until the "Summer Fitness Challenge" is over and I have lost 15 pounds....if that happens. LOL!

DUH to me too! I thought you were also talking about the exercise shrugs. LOL

I have not seen anyone wearing a shrug around here. Sure is ugly so I know I'd remember if I saw it.

Why are you hatin'? We've all had our fashion faux pas when we were younger. Now that we're older, & more experienced we know better. It would be pitiful if at our age WE were still doing the same?

I refuse to make terrible remarks about a young girl who is flaunting her stuff. She really just doesn't know any better. She'll learn. I did. If she doesn't, then, I'll talk trash about her.

Just my opinion.:7

Sheila, I am so with you. I love fashion & would buy any of the trendy stuff except I can be quite a cheap skate. I will only buy stuff that looks good on me. I love flared, low-rise jeans, not ultra-low, and no thongs showing because that's the equivalent of a bra strap showing. Tacky! I love high heels, but NOT cheap shoes. I love mini-skirts 'cause I have great legs, just not mini's AND high heels. I love great looking clothes with maybe a trendy piece inserted here or there. My only caveat is, if you're going to wear stuff like what has been mentioned, please, please, please, have the body for it. It's kind of distracting to see a couple of rolls of fat above the waistline of your jeans. Not only that, don't draw more attention to that roll of fat by adorning it with a huge tattoo or navel ring everyone can't help but see. It's embarrassing.

Now that's my pet peeve. When is everyone going to get over the piercing & tattoo phase? EVERYONE has them, it's not even cool anymore.:(
