I Hate Cardio - Sept 4

August

Cathlete
Hey now,

Well, I just tried out Gin Miller's Simply Step, and all I've got to say is : Michele - get this workout!! I had NO trouble doing it all on the first time around and even though it felt effortless, my HRM was telling me that I was in my ol' optimal range. It's very straightforward, and good for a day when you want to give thinking a rest. ;) It's about one hour in length, but it goes fast and quite painlessly (and my Polar tells me I burned up 457 calories). Love that Polar.

Other than that, not much to say but that all is great, well, except for the jetlag...and, actually, I've suddenly started feeling a weird numb feeling in the tips of my middle and ring fingers on my left hand. What on earth could that be? Is this something I need to start worrying about, you guys? I've had it now for a couple days. Is this from doing too much cardio? ;-) Does knee strain make finger tips numb?

All right, time for some chicken and a Japanese pear.

Later!

Where is everyone?? Still asleep! zzzzzzzzz....got up early and did my cardio (well old lady cardio since that is all I can do with the knee). Did bike for 20 and sssssllllllooooowwwwww walk for 10 and now with the ice.

Got up nice and early still waiting on the rest of the house to get up. We had a major milestone last night...DD slept the whole night not a peep out of her and now it 7:45 and she is still not up! WOW!

So, with that said I need to get my schedule of things to do today together, my house is out of control with clutter! YUCK!!

Have a good holiday everyone!

Are you having any more babies or are you finished. I wish I would have had three but I was older when I started (35) and there is no room or money so that answered that for me.

Anyway, yesterday I did slow and heavy squats and lunges with 75 pounds. I am not sore today. Love that weight vest. The most I will be able to do is 90 cuz I cannot hold more than 50 on my shoulders but darn, I will get there. I hate continuous reps!
So today is cardio. Let's hear it for cardio.............BOOOOOOOOOOO

Loved the museums, wonderful. My daughter hated it but I bought her a treat and that sort of helped. My older daughter was at the State Fair having fun. My younger daughter just wants to hang with me. She will be seven soon so quite young still. Her birthday party is Oct 1st at the ice skating rink. Gonna invite fifteen kids. Gonna kill my pocketbook, but I have already paid $100.00 of it. Took her to get her ears pierced earlier this week for her birthday so a couple of weeks after her birthday, she can start wearing perty earrings! I had to wait til I was 18, my mother would not hear of it.

How about any of you..........how old were you when you got your ears peirced?

Time to have some fun doing cario, oh and some push ups. Fun morning I have is store for me!

Kate

Hi Ladies -

Jana - I'm so glad your DD started sleeping through the night. Just in time for you to start going back to work. When do you start?

Kate - 75 pounds? I bow down to you. I feel strong if I do 30 pounds :) I'm glad you have fun at the museum. I definitely need to get out there and do more cultural stuff - we have all these museums and theater and I never go unless my work pays for it. I hate paying for things ;)

August - I have no idea what could be up with your finger. What kind of heart rate monitor do you have? I am thinking of getting one.

Today's menu is:

B: Hi Lo cereal with blueberries
S: cottage cheese and apple
L: salad
S: banana and string cheese
D: baked chicken with spinach salad and zucchini

Today's 5 factor workout is chest flies, squats and ab crunch. Today we do 25 reps! Should be interesting figuring out what weight to use. Then doing a 30 min walk.

Do any of you watch Prison Break? We are watching the first season on Netflix and it is so good! We are watching it all weekend!

Hey Kate-Yes this is the only one. I love this one so much and she is spoiled rotten, and well I don't know if I can do two! It is hard being a Mommy, maybe when she gets older I will consider it, but boy the thought of 2 is insane to me right now! I would want another girl if I ever did have another one. Girls are so much fun! BTW-the you guys are doing some cool stuff with the musems and the other stuff you wrote about yesterday. I would love to go see that stuff! Our musems here are really neat and great, but I like to see more outdoors stuff.

Diane-I have the Polar HR monitor and a Nike one, I like the polar one the best. They are good if while you are preggo, it is important to watch that stuff being preggo. I love, love, love Prison Break, so stuck on that show, one of my fav's. I think The Office is my fav followed by My Name is Earl and House. Mon, Tue, and Thur are my nights for TV. I don't like Wed night.

I've got the Polar F11, and I got it because that's the one I kept reading about during my search here. It's pretty fun even though I have absolutely no friggen idea how to use it and it just beeps and beeps at me...but seeing the total amount of time I did and how many calories I burned is totally fun. Course the Polar F11 has tons of cool function that probably somebody can do.

I got my ears pierced first time I think when I was like 14? Then I got one more like a year later, and then I got the high one (at the top of the ear in the cartilage around 17 or so. I don't know if any of you caught it, but I actually started a thread for advice on how to make that cartilage fudger heal for once and all. Yeah, after 20 years, I STILL can't sleep on it.

But that's all in the past now! When I was in Oregon, I replaced my hoop for a special stud, and I gotta say, it's awesome. Now I can sleep on either side of my head! What a delight!

Yay for you, Jana on getting some more sleep! Sounds like DD is starting to get the hang of things!

Thanks ladies. I think I will pick up a Polar. I think it will be good now that I am walking a lot to make sure that I am in the right heart rate zone since it is not that intense and I have to make sure I keep up the pace. Also will be good when I am preggo (though I am not right now :( ). I think I am only supposed to go up to 140 bpm or something when preggo, especially first trimester??

140 is correct, you are right on the money! Don't worry about this month, there is next month, and it's a girl month and oh yeah, best part no being preggo in the summer! yeah! Perfect months to get preggo! If (and I mean if..) I EVER did it again, I would plan it around this time.
I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you for next month! :7
