I Hate Cardio - May 19

August

Cathlete
Good morning everyone!

I'm off for my 4-day trip in a little bit. I'm not going to be lugging my computer with me (though come to think of it, I guess that would be good for strength training - the lugging, I mean) so I won't be able to log on to read all your guys' funny posts. I'm bummed! I'll catch up having a good reading fest when I get back so you all better do your cardio. I hope all the knee problems get better, the rebounder gets more fun, the weather gets better, the which child has teeth gets figured out, the DVD from McDonald's gets, huh? What the he*l were you doing at McDonald's?! And what in the world DVD does McDonald's have?! Don't say McStep.

I've got Bodymax scheduled today, so I'm going to Bootcamp ;-) . Haha. I only had attempted to do the first part of Bodymax before (you remember - the time when I became paralyzed with fear x() so I had been hoping to try it out again plus doing the other sections with weights in it,...but I won't have time for figuring out weight load and well, obviously step moves this morning, so I'm going to leave that challenge for another time.

OH! You guys. You can imagine my horror at what came out for dessert at my business (cheat) meal last night. Yes, that's right. It's sticky. It's ricey. ! I couldn't help but laugh.

My next BFFM body weight/fat reading is Monday...though I'll be out of town until Monday evening, so I'll have to measure on Tuesday with 2 major things fighting against me - 1) I'll be carrying with me several business meals THAT WILL NOT INCLUDE STICKY RICE that I will not have been able to calculate and, 2) TTOM. But of 5 meals in a day, I can confidently do 3 of them fairly well-balanced...I'll have to eyeball the other two that I can't plan...and hope that my upcoming fat % does what I want it to do.

I'm sure that was exciting for you all to read about.

All right, have a great weekend and chat with you all next week! :)

Hey August. You didn't say if you ate the sticky rice or not? So tell us, what did you have for your cheat meal???

McStep! HA!!!!!

Last night I was on a cleaning frenzy. I was up til 11:00 scrubbing, doing laundry, vaccuming, etc. Everyone went to bed by 8:45 so I had some quiet time. But I'm paying for it today. I need more then 5 hours of sleep I tell ya!

Not sure what I"m doing today. It is raining pretty heavy right now. I won't have to clean tonight so I'm free to do whatever workout I'm in the mood for.

Well, I better get back to work. I'll check in with you all later!

Good morning August and Dana and all who follow!

I got locked out of the forums for most of the day yesterday!! I have no idea what was up with that. I could get to Cathe's home page and the shopping pages, but not the forums. I was really bummed about that, but thank God I could get on this morning!

August, I hope you have a good trip and also manage a little time for some fun and relaxation. We will miss your morning diatribe--lol! It's probably a good thing (as good as any work out can be) that you did bootcamp this morning instead of the one you dread. Take it from me, time away from a difficult work out does help. I'm convinced the week I took off from cardio made all the difference in the world for my next attempt at BF. I think you should hold off for a week on your weight and body fat measurements. It doesn't sound like you'll get an accurate reading anyway. I'm so confused...are they putting work out DVD's in Happy Meals now?:7

Dana, I don't know about you but I've had it with this weather. It's not raining here YET, but it's cloudy and gloomy and thunderstorms are expected for most of the day;( . I'm lol at your "cleaning frenzy". Hey, that should count for some cardio! Anyway, I've done that before and it's a trade off. It's awful to miss out on the sleep, but it feels so good to have it done and out of the way.

Okay MJ, JanJan, Kate! Just for the record I want you all to know that I am the Queen of Klutz. I'm old, I'm decrepit, I'm tired, I've got 2 left feet...yada, yada, yada! I win this contest, HANDS DOWN!

MJ, WHAT is a McDonalds work out? I have a vision of the golden arches putting work out dvd's in every food sack along with the fat and calorie counts of your burger and fries--lol! Please, tell me what this work out is and if you like it.

JanJan, picturetrail, picturetrail, picturetrail! WTH, that's something you can accomplish while you're doing you granny work out:p

Kate, it must be a constant worry for you to be without insurance. Isn't there some way for you to get it? I'm assuming your DH is self-employed. Can you pool with other self-employed individuals to get a group rate? I hate to think of you in pain and having a problem and not being able to seek medical treatment. That really sucks! There HAS to be an answer to this dilemma...there HAS to be!

Diane, have a wonderful time on your weekend getaway and leave the cardio DVD's at home. You'll get plenty of exercise just walking and hiking right there. I can't wait to hear all about it!

I'm supposed to do a 40 minute brisk walk today but I'll probably sub with a Leslie Sansone DVD. I did a 2 mile Leslie yesterday as an extra cardio for my rotation, along with stability ball abs and a stretch.

Okay girls, I'm off to do a few things and I'll see you later.

Michele

Thank you Michele, but please don't worry about me. I am just the type who gets minor stuff. Unfortunately I get it all the time LOL.
I cannot get insurance since my husband is self employed. In this overtaxed state there is nothing to pool with other self employed types. They keep talking about it, but nothing ever gets done. If I bought insurance, it would cost $500.00 per month for me only. That is a state subsidized plan called MRMIP for those who get turned down by insurance companies. No one will cover me due to my bladder disease. I am healthy in every other way, but just because of that, I cannot get insurance. It is ridiculous.
Oh well, I am taking it easier. Today I did LowMax on a lower step without the hops. You know cardio can be enjoyable if one uses a lower step and modifies............ha, did anyone believer that??
Sticky Rice. I gotta try this. I will never be a believer unless I try it myself. Last night I had Mexican. If only I could eat less, then well, I suppose there would be something else. Darn.
I hope you all are doing well. Until tomorrow. Have school (4th grade) today so I am off........
Kate

Kate that sucks about the health insurance. My DH is also self-employed which is the main reason that I continue to work. (my job has health insurance)

Did August ever say what is in "sticky rice"? I'm assuming white rice of course but what else? What is making it sticky????

So no walk today. I'm sleep deprived and I"ve got a headache.

OK I am going to start Body For Life on Monday. I need to do something. This time I am going to try to follow the entire program. Last time I did it I only followed the eating plan and did my own thing for exercise. But I think that his exercise program is considerably shorter then a Cathe DVD and with my upcoming schedule, this should work. I"m going to go shopping over the weekend for shakes and bars. Should have just about everything else.

Have a great day all!

Dana, I wish you well with your new game plan:). You can do this...you can! And did I read your post correctly? You mean you get to do LESS cardio on this plan? Oh man, what more could you ask for--lol!

I STILL haven't taken my printed and bound BFFM ebook out of the back seat of my car. A lot of good it's going to so me in there:eek: . I've been really focusing on my work outs, and I've been eating fairly clean. I've substantially increased my fruit and veggie intake which seems to be making a difference. I've been steadily dropping weight--not a lot--about 1/2 to 1 lb a week, and that's fine with me. I figure when I reach a plateau then I'll pull out THE BOOK--lol!

Kate, that pre-existing condition crap really pi$$e$ me off. What a load of shiznit! I hope things change in sunny California. By the way, I do all my step work outs on just the platform. I'd surely keel over if I added a riser:eek: :7

Michele

Michele, CA is the most over-taxed state in the country. But we do have great weather!
I have to use risers, I am six feet tall!!!

Hello haters,

Ok so I am finally done running around all day today. Phew..it's only 2:30. Surgery set for June 13th at 6:30 am. Dr. said it's not bad and I should be hopping around that same day. 10 minute surgery. Now here is the bad part....NO weights (lower body) for 3 MONTHS!!! I was like WTH?? He said yep, got to balance out all the muscles in the leg and let the knee cap recover before doing weights again. I am not happy about that. Also, no step for a long while....x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( :-( :-( :-( :-( x( x( x( :-( :-( :-(
I am not happy about that either. Can you tell??? Dreadmill and bike only for about 6-8 weeks....talk about raining on your parade this morning. Geeszzzzeeeee.....Oh well I will feel better soon or later. The left knee might have to get operated on as well, but he said I should have a few more years before that happens.

Ok so how is everyone? Good I hope. No, Michele I can't get to the pict trail while doing sit and be fit workouts, computer upstairs and I only come up here a few times per day. I have to do it when DH is home to watch DD. I have been soooo tired lately I keep falling asleep at like 9:30. DD is going through the "I don't want to sit down" stage and school work has been killing me....I am over all the school work. This weekend (hopefully) I will fix it. But I need Diane and I think Diane is off getting some much needed rest and relaxation.

Kate-I have to agree with you. It was nuts to live in Cali, but man oh man everyday was beautiful. I lived in LA and SD and I hated to leave. TX is just too darn hot! Do hope your knee gets to feeling better soon. :) :)

Ok I have to go and start cleaning the house. I am already tired. I will check in with everyone this weekend.

You guys have a fab weekend!
