I Hate Cardio - May 17

Good morning!

All right, here is my large dose of words for your breakfast.

Michele - You're so sweet to say that you enjoy reading my long-winded posts and that I have a good sense of humor. You made my day! And great for you about the pivots! Hey, low intensity is way better than no intensity. Lucky me, I wasn't that into white rice, bread or pasta in the first place, so it's been really easy to completely exclude them from my list of foods. Mmm, but I love my organic chicken! Right now I'm on a Jamaican Jerk frenzy.

Kate - Hah, I would totally live here just for the humidity I love humidity so much. Yeah, Japanese are slender. And they eat tons of white rice. Go figure. Oh, and sticky rice, too. Turbo Jam? I'd heard tons of good things about Turbo Jam. Bummer it get stale fast.

Diane - Those business dinners are killer. Usually I'll go for business dinners and the whole meal has been preordered. I just sit and eat my course. I guess that means you'll be wanting to up your cardio. Ugh. It's good that you found out about the time you need to wait before bringing in new kittens into your home. It's a bummer you have to wait, but I guess there's nothing you can do. Well, you could move. Heh.

Janjan - Yes, work brought me here and now it's totally my home. I really love all the energy in Japan. It's really great - except everything is incredibly expensive. Thank you so much for the blasts warning! The warning cracked me up. Okay, I've got KM tomorrow, so I promise I will do blasts #2 and 3. I'll give you the damage report as soon as I get it, which should be immediately following the workout. Oh man, you have to wait until July to do your knee?

Dana - Thanks for your comments about my marathon posts. I just don't want to put anyone off to sleep with too much! I'm glad I'm part of your guys' group - it's really been fun and inspiring. Oh, and I am totally doing what Diane was writing about - after reading BFFM about setting goals and positive affirmations, I wrote out my health and exercise goals (and even threw in a couple career ones for the heck of it) and they've really been helping me focus. Just think - your body now is a more efficient, strong one, so just walking doesn't cut it anymore. Sounds like your body was responding well to BFM, why not try it again? And brand new equipment at the gym sounds inspiring! You can make it your short-term goal to be the first to sweat all over them and mark them as your territory!

Anyway, I did my Power Hour AGAIN and loved it more than I did when I did it the day before yesterday. Really. (Note to self : next rotation should not include Power Hour.) Oh and...I've got a sudden business dinner on my next cheat meal day tomorrow...which means I'll just eat whatever is served at dinner for my cheat and no cinnamon bun waaaaaa. I'd totally psyched myself up for it, too. Cinnnnnnamonnnnnnnn bunnnnnnnnn.

Whatever happens, I'm not going to eat white or sticky rice at that business meal.
 
Good morning August and all!

I have Body Fusion again today--WAH!!! I hope I can get all the way through it before I move on to LIS. Do you guys think I should move on before I can complete all of BF? I can get all the way through the 1st 2 combo's, it's just the 3rd one I can't finish. I have to modify but at least I keep moving.

August, I'm holding you to your word that you will not eat sticky rice for your next cheat meal. Actually, I think you should go ahead and have that %^&($ cinnamon roll, for crying out loud! I mean, I hate to be a bad influence, but if I put off a craving for too long it encourages binge eating and I would hate to see you on the floor in the back of a closet with a whole friggin box of cinnamon rolls--lol!

Diane, your post yesterday was very inspiring! I felt like I could get through BF after reading it. I think we all needed that, so thank you for your encouraging words. I hope you can get back on track with your cardio. You can...you just have to be really disciplined. YOU CAN DO IT!!

JanJan, what's up for you today, missy? I'm glad to hear your arms and abs are coming along, but I'm afraid I have a hard enough time with my own cardioooooo much less doing yours too. Maybe Kate will do yours. She seems to like piling it on--LOL!

Dana, finally! We have a beautiful, sunshiney day here. I hope I'm sharing this sunny day with you and that you can squeeze in a good walk today. I just have to echo what Diane said yesterday. Just know that we're in this together and there's no pressure. Heck, we all have our breakdowns, but you've enjoyed great success so far and you WILL again!

Kate, you doubling up today--lol! I feel exhausted just reading about your work outs. How much time do you have left in Kindergarten? Are you a teacher? How many kids do you have and how old are they? I'm nosy, aren't I?--lol!

OMG!!! I think I finally found the right group to join! Ya'll are pretty nutty, and hate cardio to boot! YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Took the dog for a 20 minute walk this morning and will do SS UBB in a bit...I'm in a wedding in 2 weeks and the bride said I'm "slacking" in the arms...This coming from a gal who does NO weights (is a cardio buff, should we get her???)...Hmmm...I'll STILL have the best arms in this wedding, and that COULD include the guys (MN beer drinkin' guys with tum-tums, need I say more??)

Off to happily lift heavy, and wince through the cardioish w/up!

MJ, welcome and we're thrilled to have you! Yes, this is a fun group. We all hate cardio and we manage to suffer through it with the support of each other and an atmosphere of good cheer.

I think you need to slap the bride! You have my permission--lol!

Good luck on your work outs. I haven't done mine yet but I've been known to procrastinate for hours--lol! I've done cardio at 11 PM before:eek:.

Again, welcome! we're glad you've joined our little group, one of the best kept secrets of the Cathe forums if you ask me.

Martijean, welcome! I am fairly new myself but I can say that we do have fun. Well, we have fun when we are not on a cardio day. And that is what is up for me today---ZERO. I was gonna workout today but when I got back from taking my older daughter to school, I just didn't have the whatever it takes to do it. Oh well. SLACKER, I am a slacker.
JanJan, no way to the cardio and especially on a treadmill--yuck. Boy do you have alot of determination to do that darn thing. Those stair climbers seem miserable too and the stationary bike, yuck yuck yuck. I am sure your arms do not look like Mick Jaggers, they probably look fine so don't sweat, jelousy, that what it is!
Michele, I am not a teacher. Oh, I do not have the patience for that. But my girls go to a an "open" school in the district. It requires parent participation. One must pay monthly dues. If one works in the classroom or takes a job as like Field Trip Coordinator than one pays less. There are monthly meetings and many, many fieldtrips. I gotta say that I have had my share of fieldtrips for the year, just one more!!!! School is out June 12th
Well, everyone have a great day. Mine will be flabby (no cardio) but I swear I will get back into it tomorrow (tomorrow can wait!)

Hello haters. Just got back from my walk - in record time that is. 3.5 miles in 45 minutes! Usually takes me no more then 50 minutes but I was booking it today.

August I don't like what you're saying. LOL I think you are right that walking just isn't enough for my body now but you all know how I HATE cardio.

Michele - I say enough of BF or whatever the heck it is and move on to LIS. LIS is pretty easy to follow. There are a few pivots in it but I just make up my own stuff when I can't follow.

Diane - how are you? Were you able to get anything in today? Thanks for your support yesterday. I really need to find out what is going to motivate me and get busy.

Kate - no cardio eh? Good for you!}( You deserve a rest day so take it.

Jana - where are you??? Has your DD gotten any teeth yet? Gannon has got 3 on the bottom and another one looks like it will be coming through soon. He's got none on the top and no signs of any coming in soon. He is going to look so silly.

MJ welcome! It is great to always find another hater to add to our group. Seems we have a hater join only to discover that they really do like cardio and they leave us. We are very dedicated to hating cardio.

Well my lunch is up and I've got junk to do.

Hi Everyone -

Finally got a chance to check the forum. I was working until midnight last night, and then got an email this morning that I had an urgent project due right after lunch so I had to hurry into work. I have been working on it the whole day non-stop, but haven't found anything helpful, which I hate because I have nothing to show for all my work.

Anyway, I am not sure what I will try to fit in today. It was supposed to be a running day, but I needed some sleep this morning and I might have to stay late at work today.

I can't wait for Friday because DH and I are going on a mini-vacation. on Friday morning we are driving to the Texas hill country, Fredricksberg (Jana will know where that is), for a long weekend at a bed and breakfast. Just going to wineries, eating yummy food, climbing this big rock (I got to get some exercise in on vacation) and maybe riding bikes around some of the scenic hills. Should be nice and relaxing. I really need it, we have been both working hard. DH has been working until midnight too.
 
Diane, I'm so excited for you...and jealous! I hope you have a wonderful time. I think you and your DH deserve the down time. You'll need to post a link to your vacation destination so we can all ooh and ahh over it. I hope you don't have to work too late tonight.

Dana, wow! That's great time on your walk. I probably wouldn't be able to keep up with you. Today is my last BF for awhile. My rotation calls for cardio again on Friday, a 40 minute brisk walk. I'll probably do a Leslie Sansone DVD. Starting next week I move on to LIS on Mon & Wed, and BF on Fri...so I still don't get out of BF but at least I'll only have it once a week, thank God!

Kate, you're no slacker! If anything you're a freakin cardio dynamo, especially for someone who purports to hate it--lol!

Okay, I still haven't done my work out. I've been busy around the house and I still have a few errands to run, too. Better get a ove on....

I'm still awake. It's 3:30am here.

Michele - Well of COURSE I want to have the %^&($ cinnamon roll dammit! It's just that now I have a business dinner and I can't rightly do BOTH! (Note to self : Please don't do both.) So I'm just going to enjoy my dinner without counting this or that and use it as my cheat. Am I awesome or what :* ?! I'm out of town this weekend again for 4 days this time, which means cheat meal #2 will fall somewhere where I'm not close to a %^&($ cinnamon roll. I'm reduced to waiting until next week. Oh crud, now I'm hungry. As for Body Fusion, here is what you wrote : "I hope I can get all the way through it before I move on to LIS. Do you guys think I should move on before I can complete all of BF?" Now...you're saying that YOU hope that you CAN get all the way through it BEFORE you move on to LIS. Are you saying that you'd like us to recommend something against your desire? (Note #2 to self : Don't mention Power Hour again in this thread.)

Kate - You know, if I had space in my apartment, I would totally buy a treadmill. It seems like it might be something up my cardio alley (a.k.a. It's not step or dance).

Dana - Woo to you for beating your previous time! That is really awesome. You must feel fab! Congrats! :7

Diane - Your mini-vacation sounds heavenly. Enjoy tons and relax tons and just have a great time!

can I call this the "slacker" check in for me today? Let's see well, Kate you are right I could not bare another day on the dreadmill so I decided to take the day off. Ahhh..boring....oh so boring. I have 2 things due for class tomorrow and I am so slacking on them. I have been attempting them for 1 week now and I am not getting far. I am soooooo sick of these classes and can't wait for them to be over with. 2 more weeks! Ok down the list:

August~ yes I want to hear all about the blasts. I think I like the last 3 or 4 of them the best. It has been so long since I have been able to do a blasts so I am envious that you get to do them. Yes, I actually miss my cardio. I am so never going to eat at KFC, not that I do (I think its been 4 years since the last time), but after what you said, yeah no.

Michele~ I 2nd the notion to move along to LIS. I think you might actually like it....yes I just said that. It's not hard and a lot of knees around the world so you will be ready for LowMax and Imax2. Come on you can do it.!!!!

Dana~ No teeth yet. I am still waiting, I think they are starting to come in but I just can't tell. She has all the signs, drool, finger in mouth all the time, crankyness (at times) and her new thing at night is she does not want to drink the formula which I give to her around 8:30(she goes to bed around 9:15-9:30) she wants to eat baby food. She will actually spit the formula out, but the minute you pull out the apple sauce she will eat it all up! Total rollerbaby too. I swear she rolls all over the place I have to water her all the time. I don't know if Gabe does this, but man you put her in the exercauser (spellling error I know) and she goes nuts in that thing. Laughing and playing. It is sooo cute! On another note: 2 things. 1. I did chest and tri's on Monday, I am with you yawza! The push ups..oh....ouch....double ouch.....I do them on bent knees and I am dying on the 3rd set! 2. the diet thing. Ok you and I sound exactly the same. I have been on WW before and did good. I never really have the much to loose 5-8 lbs here and there, but last time I was there they kicked me out because I lost more than their ideal body weight. It was stupid. I am like look lady I am 5'11" and not big boned so I don't normally weight that much, you are seriously kicking me out. She told me unless I maintained the weight and did not loose any more I could stay...I was not agreeing to that I felt like I needed to loose 5 more. So...there went that journey. I also did BforL and lost and was on it before getting preggo. For some reason I just can't get back on track to loose this last bit so I am in the rut too. My hands are up in the air as well. Open for sugguestions if you come up with some. Sorry to be so long there....

MJ~ welcome yes we are all nuts. We are allowed to play on the computer when they undo the straps for the straight jackets. hheeeee...

I did it!!! I made it ALL THE WAY through that $%^&%(* 3rd combo of Body Fusion!! I did it at a slightly lower intensity. Instead of hopping the lunges around the step I just stepped them, but I did EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM:) . I actually got a little teary eyed over it. Isn't that a hoot!? Anyway, I just wanted to share my accomplishment. I'd do a happy dance but I'm fried now, and my left knee is a little bit sore:eek: :-( .

Diane, OMG, that B&B looks fabulous! I'll want to hear all about it when you get back:p
