I Hate Cardio ~ June 20th

purple_magada

Cathlete
Morning ladies.

Diane I had to laugh at your last line from yesterday's post, "Because I am a dork". You're funny. Anyway, Gabe is VERY vocal about his thoughts on smoking. The one time we were at a park and someone was smoking and he told the lady to quit smoking around his brother. My dad smokes and last week he had a cigarette in his mouth but it wasn't lit yet and Gabe said, "Pap, get the hell away from my mom". Yes my 5 year old should not be swearing but it was funny. We (and the boys) are going out to dinner with them tonight and another couple and I swear if she seats us in smoking I will NEVER go with them again.

Anyway, I am so happy. I weighed myself this morning and not only did I lose the 3 lbs that I gained last week, but also one more lb. So that is a total of 8lbs so far on BFL and a total of 15lbs since March 1.

So what is everybody's workout for today? I"m taking a 20 minute power walk at lunch and then would like to do GS back/shoulder/biceps tonight.

Ladies I finally got all my filing done at work. It took me 14 hours to do it! YIKES! I did accumulate more yesterday but the bulk of it is done. My boss is off until the 2nd week of July so I have time to get everything all caught up.

Michele - how'd your hair turn out yesterday? I need to make an appt for a hair cut. I need one so bad.

Well, I better get going. It is 5:06 in the am and I need to eat my oatmeal.

Hi to Jana, Kate and August!

Talk to you all later!

Good Morning Haters!

Just checking in to say HI! Nah, not doing any cardio really...well maybe pushmowing and riding my bike and some walking lunges I will do this morning, but that is about it!

Michele,

Good job on the pushups! Keep working it, girl! Let us know about your hair too!

JanJan,

Sorry I have not kept up with emailing you. Started working and didn't have much time and now I feel dumb. I have been reading the post about your knees and how much they are bothering you. This really surprises me cuz I am have the same thing with my knees, but it was never THAT bad. Please keep in touch.

Dana,

Great job on the weight loss! That is the way to do it!!!! HIGH FIVE!!!!!!

hello to everyone else out there!!

Char Char

Hello everyone,

Wanted to wish everyone a nice 4th of July weekend.

Michele-Do hope the back is getting better and your cardio is coming along.

Char Char- send you an email at the yahoo address.

Kate and August hope you guys are well also.

Have a happy 4th everyone.

Good morning Dana, Char Char, Janjan, and everybody who checks in later!!

Dana, I'm lol at Gabe! He's a kid after my own heart:+. I love it when kids use cuss words appropriately :7 . If they try to seat you in the smoking section tonight I think you shoud speak up and say that there must be some mistake because you don't smoke. I'm ^ 5ing you on your results--WOO HOO!!! That's so fantastic. I'm afraid, very afraid to step on the scales--lol!

Char Char! It does my heart good to see you here this morning. I think I can speak for us all when I say we've missed you and your @$$ kicking attitude. How's your job going? You better listen to your body and take care of those knees. Do more inner thigh work and leg extensions.

Janjan, how are you this morning? How much time have you been spending on the bike? Is your range of motion improving? My back is okay, a little sore but not a problem.

Diane, I coughed and coffee flew out of my nose after reading your "dork" comment--lol!

August, we miss your bright and shining presence in Cardiohateville. I can't wait for you to get back to posting. I bumped up your thread in the Ask Cathe forum and you got a pretty good response from somebody, but not Cathe. Cathe never replied to my post, either. :-( . Oh well, I think she's pretty busy and I'm sure she doesn't have time to answer every post. I'll bet us cardio haters are a low priority--lol!

Okay, my hair. It's just crazy cute!! I've never been so happy after a hair appointment. I have naturally curly hair that's all screwy and hard to manage. It never looks the same 2 days in a row. My stylist tried a new product on my hair yesterday, a curl cream, then she scrunched it while using a diffuser, and my curls came out all soft and shiney with springy spirals. My DH loved it! It still looks really good today. It's pretty hard to make curly hair look soft much less shiney. I bought a bottle of that cream and I hope I can duplicate the results.

I have Body Fusion today. I better get going. What are you all doing for the 4th? DH and I are just hanging out. His fam damily went to the damily cottage on a lake far away and we will NOT be joining them:)

I'm replying to myself because I forgot to mention our dear Kate:eek: . See Kate, you get your very own post:7 .

I was lol at your comment yesterday, the one about cancelling your paper because of it's slant. We just did the same thing. Our local paper is owned by Cox and it'd be hard to match their far, left wing liberal bias, unless, of course, you subscribe to the NYT, which we did, but camcelled that, too. We are now paper less but get all our news on the internet and from the Fox news Channel. As you might guess, I am conservative.

So, did you do your 60 min. of cardio? If you did, you're a better woman than I--I don't see myself EVER doing 60 min of cardio. I think 50 will be the max for me. I think I might possibly hate it more than you:eek: :7 :p

I did abs and a stretch last night and it's BF today. Have a good day:)

Member of the Independent Party here. I read Foxnews online now, when I get a chance at the internet.
I only did 50 mins of cardio yesterday. I did Imax2 and it almost killed me. Oh well. I did do ABJam and Cathe's ball stretch though. That added something. I am so inflexible, I can't even get my arms to my hips when I bend over. I am working on flexibility this summer. (Ha, tell the truth----adding stretching will take time away from harder stuff, be honest). Today I will be doing Pyramids, abs, stretching and some cardio. Once again, working on the flexibility(more stretching, less time for cardio, you are a liar!!!) I am going for my eight push-ups again. I used to work alot on my upper body. I did this for six months and I saw NO improvement. NONE.

Smoking, ha. Whenever we leave a store and someone is smoking, my kids yell "Mom, don't breathe!" I don't care if the smokers hear them, apparently they don't care enough to smoke where there are no other people.

Everyone is wishing a happy 4th. Is everyone going to be gone this weekend? No way. Workout whether you want to or not. Your muscles don't realize it is the weekend (they should but they don't) so get going and workout!!!
I gotta go, gotta do my workout. My daughters friends are coming over today and I am picking them up. I have kids over five days per week and I am thinking this is more tiring them working in the classroom. Maybe I am getting old...............

Oh, by the way, Michele, since you are so nice to care. I got my denial letter from an medical insurance company. The insurance company combines bladder with kidney when it comes to chronic problems. Well, I have interstitial cysitis which is annoying and tiring but is no where near what people with chronic kidney problems have. I will not cost the insurance any money on this subject except one visit to the doc per year so that she can tell me there is nothing she can do. So I got denied anyway. How can they equate IC with Kidney Dialysis? Anyway, there is a program in CA called MRMIP. Major Risk Medical ( this irritate me since I am NOT a major risk, I am healthier that most people my age-46). I am going to sign up for this for awhile so that I can get my annual exams and make sure my interior is working properly. But it cost $561.25 per month. It is a real rip-off. It only covers $75,000.00 annually. How does someone who really is a major risk get by with that tiny amount? That is probably an hour in the hospital. Sorry for ranting, but insurance is such a racket. I called the gyno who I have not seen since my younger daughter was born for an exam. I can't get in til October. He is really cool and has a great sense of humor. I guess everyone wants to see him for that "as pleasant as cardio" exam.
Shut up Kate, shut up. Okay okay.
Have a great day and good Friday to all you working folk!

Hi Everyone -

Dana - Congrats on the weight loss! Gabe is so funny - you should definitely ask for non-smoking. I can't eat when people are smoking near me.

Charlotte - So glad you joined us today. We miss your enthusiasm. I checked out your new pics and you got some great results.

Jana - Hope you have a great weekend too. Any plans for the 4th?

Michele - Glad your hair turned out cute. I have naturally curly hair too, but mine is more wavey than spirals. But I blow dry it straight a lot. I found a combo of products that worked for me like 5 years ago and stuck with it. Anything else makes it feel crunchy and yucky. I like the soft curls, but they can't be so soft that they don't hold.

Kate - Sorry about your insurance problems. I represent some insurance companies and know their tricks. Deny deny deny until you will get in trouble if you deny.

About gyno appointments, I had a horrible nightmare last night about one. I think I need to get my mind off babies. I had a dream about waiting for 3 hours for an appointment with all of these people cutting in front of me, then when I got in there, they stuck my stomach with a long dull needle. I woke up in a sweat. Of course I was reading a pregnancy book right before bed, so that could have something to do with it. It was scary!

Kate, you should talk to your doctor about your insurance woes. He may be able to "change" your diagnosis, or re-word it somehow. I was a visiting nurse for many years and we used to do "creative" charting--lol! Honestly, if you don't word things just SO payment will be denied. It's worth a try. He may be able to categorize your diagnosis slightly differently so that you can get the coverage you need.

Diane, what a terrible nightmare!! I think you should opt for lighter reading at bedtime and save the other stuff for earlier in the day. What hair care products do you use? I use a lot of Ouidad stuff that I buy on her website. Some of it is great and some is not so great. My stylist used a curl cream by Pureology yesterday and this is the best my hair has looked in a long time. I have a lot of curl, especially in the summer. My curl formation isn't quite as good in the winter and I have to layer a ton of product. I go through gallons of conditioner and I can't use anything that contains silicones or my hair frizzes like crazy.

Curly hair. When I think of all the money I spent on perms thru the years...oh well. Bone straight fine hair over here. Doesn't hold a curl without cans and cans of Aqua-Net and even that doesn't hold it for long. Yuck, my hair.
I will try with the doctor when I see her this fall. Good idea. Maybe she can say I have a tender bladder. Ha ha ha ha ah ahahahaha

Michele - I love Pureology, I use their moisterizing shampoo and conditioner. I will have to try some of their other hair products if you like the curl cream. I use a mixture of a leave in conditioner and a glaze for curls, both Paul Mitchell (not my favorite brand, but if it works, who cares). I do about 2 parts leave in conditioner to 1 part glaze, and the amount I use depends on how long my hair is. You rub both together in your hands and then very lightly run it through your hair. Be careful not to scrunch too much or it gets kinky, I use a towel to scrunch because it is softer and get extra clump of product. I don't usually use a defuser but sometimes do. Otherwise I just let it dry naturally and do not touch. My boss makes fun of me if I come to work with my hair slightly damp. I love the Pureology shampoo though, and I love the Bumble and Bumble Super Conditioner for your type of hair - it is so awesome. I ran out and tried the Pureology conditioner - it is minty and a little less creamy, but still seems to work fine even though it is not super creamy.

Dana,

Thanks!

Michele,

I quit my job about a month ago..where ya been, girl??? LOL! Ain't having any more problems with my knees, they just make awful noises when I bend down, but no more problems cuz I don't run alot or do too many static lunges which have seemed to irritate my knees. All is good in the neighborhood, ya dig? ;)

So far I only did one set of bbm's w/weights and still got arms to do. My cardio was running around with a cart in Costco's today. I wore my attitude shirt "I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, let me call an ambulance" and a few people liked it.

Charlotte~~

YEAH! Our law firm just decided to do a "spontaneous" day off on Monday July 3rd, I think because so many people were saying how much it sucks because you can't really go out of town. I know I will still be in the office this weekend and Monday (lots of work) but at least I can wear jeans and can come in whenever I want! Unfortunately staff won't be here, which makes it harder to work but this is so fun!! Anyway, a small highlight in my life.

Well we aren't going out to dinner after all. I even went on the restaurant's website (Quaker Steak & Lube, what a name for a restaurant, huh?) and found a healthy choice too. We were supposed to go racing on Sunday but that track is closed due to the roads being closed so my DH is going to another track. Tomorrow is their 4th of July picnic so he left tonight and me and the boys will go down tomorrow. We're getting ready to leave - I want to go to GNC, Gabe's wants Wendy's for dinner and then we are going to Wal-Mart. Big Friday night for us - I live on the edge of danger huh? I have to make something for that picnic. I think choc chip cookies (I'm using tomorrow as my free day) and tortellini salad.

Char, I didn't know that you quit your job either. Why? I"m so out of the loop though.

I better get going. My exciting evening awaits . . .
