I Hate Cardio - July 18

Hi there!

I just finished Kickmax and did as many blasts as I could - who the he!! knows how many that was LOL. It was up until the one where you jump up and tuck your knees. I'm always afraid of that one for fear of making my neighbors downstairs bummed out.

Can I tell you, yesterday was a clean high calorie day and I don't know, but that barley gave me magical powers. Talk about more energy than usual! I'm defrosting more of that barley goop for today! }( Goop me up, Scotty!

Jana - So nobody's giving up their Turbo Jam for you? Well, I guess that's a good sign. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you either find it cheap somewhere, or that you buy it new and don't regret it ;) .......Oh, I see, you have the pancake for breakfast but work out before breakfast. Makes sense. I can see how you would be starving by then! I roll out of bed and immediately need to put stuff in my mouth.

Okay, tomorrow is Gym Chest/Tri. Oh, and pushups. Those suckers are getting harder to do somehow (probably because I'm increasing one every other day duh). Maybe the Magic Barley Goop will give me the power I need.

Michele - we're waiting on good news from you.

Hi Ladies - I got up late today but should still have time for 20 min of something. I was supposed to do floorwork for GS Legs and PLB plus coremax, but I think I will just do one floorwork.

Tonight I am going to a recruiting event with all women attorneys and we are going to this place called Queen's Beads where you make you own necklaces and jewelry. Should be kinda fun, and I will always take free jewerly, even if it is something ugly I made. Afterwards we are going to dinner at Carrabbas. I always get this horribly bad for you stuffed pasta with tomato cream sauce, and eat tons of bread, so we will see how much I can resist.
 
Dear Flylady,

Please look after Diane today while she is making jewerly. She says she will bring back something even if it's ugly to clutter her belongings.

I don't know Carrabbas, but by the sounds of it, I'll bet they have good desserts, too. ;( I like good desserts.

Hey, weird thing - after I froze my barley, it became..normal. Or rather, not goopy. Either way, it's delish.
 
Barley huh? Sounds magical.....NOT. I wish I could follow you, but I wouldn't have much to live for, would I? SHUT UP! I have my wonderful family and friends and all of you. I cannot believe I would give it all up just to have a candy bar. Foolish woman I am.
It is sooo hot here. Yesterday it was 110 degrees and today it is supposed to be the same. I go thru the sunblock like I would love to go thru the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. My poor dear DH works outside in this hell, yet he never complains. Thinks that complaining about the weather isn't going to change it. That isn't what I think. I think that eventually complaining will conquer all.
Jana, I am telling you. Don't waste your energy on Turbo Jam. The music is the worst of hip-hop, as if there is a worse, it is all bad. So redundant. I think you could hurt your back with this too. Buy more Cathe. Go running (yuck) but don't buy Turbo Jam.
Michele, I hope things are going better. I hope you have gotten out of the dark room. I am thinking about you.
What is up with Kali and Diane, what about the kitties?
I keep thinking, if I was only 5' 11", how easy it would be to buy jeans. I bet you have slim hips too, don't you? Six feet tall and pear hips. Really easy to find jeans. What ever happened to Brittania? I remember them from the 70's. I guess all the stitching would be goofy now. Oh well.
My head is spinning. It isn't even 7am yet and it is already 78 degrees. Ugh. I gotta get this backside moving. An hour of cardio, 20 of abs and whatever of stretching. I know, the sooner I start, the sooner I finish. Whatever........

Hi Haters!

I hate working out in my sunroom! Gosh, I am working my legs and watching the thermometer go up, up and up! The humidity level is so dag on high too. I am dying in there! I am using lower weights today while doing PLB (60-65-70) for the pyramid cuz I just don't think my heart rate needs to get too high cuz the air quality is so poor, ya know? At least I am working them. I come inside the a/c part of my house for relief when I need to.

So everybody take care and drink tons of water if you HAVE to do cardio ESPECIALLY!

So, I am back from another day of PT..
How is everyone today?

I also just got done with GS Chest (no pushups) and GS back (no pull overs). I just don't like pullovers at all, I don't know why. Don't feel they are very effective so I skip them. Upped the weights today and uh do I feel it.

It is so friggin hot and humid and nasty right now! Diane I really feel for you having to wear a suit and go outside at all today. It is nasty! Carrabbas...ohhh yummy!!! I love the creamy parmesan dressing...oh I could take a bath in that stuff....bad, bad, bad. You are going to have fun! Eat something good for me!

Char Char...girl, get out of that room before you melt! It's just too dang hot!!!

So, I have to be short I am soooo hungry and need to get breakfast cooked up. Hello to everyone, I will check back in later!

PS- Kate here is a sugguestion on the jeans. I am 5'11" and pear shape and the Gap has good jeans or Bananna Republic. They are cut right and long enough. Just try them out. Get low rise, hides the hips better.
 
Hello!!!

I miss you guys! I have good news and bad news about my AC. The good news is, we discovered that if we set the fan to "auto" instead of letting it run continuously (like we were instructed to do), it removes more of the humidity. The bad news is, we still have too much humidity in the air here and DH and I both feel like crap. I suspect the unit they installed might be oversized for our house, of course, they think differently. I'm waiting for a call from the service manager. He's supposed to set up an appointment with the manufacturers rep from Lennox.

I have not worked out in ages. It has to be a week or longer. It's been to friggin hot and sticky inside my house, and way to hot outside. We've had temps well into the nineties with high humidity levels. You absolutle can't breathe, the air quality is so poor;( . I am expecting my new Cathe DVD's today, though, so I will at least preview them.

August--lol! So now you know. Yep! Barley has magical powers, all right. It packs a 1-2 punch--it's both delicious AND nutritious:9 :9 . I'm making some today. So, are you saying that barley gave you a magical ability to get through kickmax!?!?!?!? Well, maybe there's hope for me after all--lol! ROTFLMAO at your letter to FlyLady:7 :7 :7

Diane, which floor work did you end up doing? Ohhh, Carrabba's. I really like that place. I get carry out from there fairly often because they have that wonderful curbside pickup. I always order just plain old pasta with tomato sauce and a salad. That's not too bad. there's no fiber to speak of since it's not whole wheat, but tomato sauce is good for you.

Kate, you must try barley. It's so good. It really is so don't sell it short. And it's so good for you that it would probably be OK to have a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup for dessert;) . Just ask August. I'm 5'5" and I can't find jeans either. They're either too long or too short. About your weather--I always hear how the heat is tolerable because there's so little humidity but I don't believe it. I've been to California and Arizona and it is HOT. If you can fry an egg on your your car it's too hot to be compatible with life--I don't care if it is dry--it's still HOT--UHG!

Char Char--I hear you about the weather but I'm sure it's worse there in Virginia, but it's plenty bad enough here, too. I have a very low tolerance for it. I bow to your greatness and toughness once again. I've already had 2 quarts of water today, and I've started my third.

Janjan-- I love your picture trail so much. Your DD is such a precious little doll baby! Now, what's up? Why no pushups? I'm doing pretty well with my pushups. I should work on those today. Maybe I will!

Dana, how are you? I read your posts a few days ago but I've not been around much. I need to go back and read the posts from the past few days to see when was the last time you checked in. I hope your summer is going well and that you're able to stay cool.

I think Kali jumped ship and went over to either the hardcore or challenge checkin:-( . I don't know for sure but that's what I suspect. We miss you Kali and you're welcome here anytime:* :* .

Oh, one of the reasons I haven't been around as much is because my computer is on the 2nd floor of my house and it's hotter than blue blazes up there. That's another problem with our system--our 1st floor is cold and damp like a refrigerator and our 2nd floor is hot and dry like an oven--;(

JanJan--really jeans that long enough. I will give it a try. All I could find were those awful low slung jeans from Levi's or Lee's and I hate them. Thank you.

Today I did workout stupid. I didn't realize until after I finished LowMax that I had a 10" step height. No wonder I was ready to expire. What a fool. Ugh, I thought that was the end of me. I did add AbRipper X because I feel that if I am going to be that stupid, then go all the way. I could barely stretch. NUMSKULL
 
Hey Kate..A little more info to help in your quest. I wear the bootcut curvy Tall by Gap. They are $59 I think, which is not too bad, but good news is they last forever! They are not too low (which I do not much care for the really low rise stuff) and they are roomy in the legs, hips and booty. Or from Ban Rep try the Contoured basic boot-cut in tall. They are a little more expensive, but they are too well worth the $$. I have mainly the Gap ones and they work good.

I completely understand how hard it is to find jeans that fit! I feel your pain! Hopefully we can find you something that you like and feel good in!

Then again, I think I would freeze in the winter up there, I have delicate thin skin with the cold. But ohhhh think of all the cool sweaters I could wear....I don't think I have put on a sweater in 2 years. I was wearing short sleeves for x-mas this last year.

Anyway, Michele, I do hope you guys get that crazy thing fixed real soon. Which new Cathe did you order???
 
HELLO HATERS!!!! Finally have a few minutes to check in here.

August - I KNEW you would love Barley. It is really good for breakfast warmed up and mixed w/splenda & cinnamon. I'm all out and I"ve got to get more! I totally forgot when I was at the grocery store last time. You crack me up!!!

Michele - I think the humidity is supposed to break here in Pa in the next few days. Hopefully yours will be doing the same.

Jan-Jan: I don't know anything at all about TJ but there is no way I could do those workouts. I"d be laughing the entire time. Anything that requires dance moves and I"m like NO WAY!!!

Diane: What did you end up doing for your workout? I've never heard of the restaurant that you are going to but it sounds fab!

I agree, Kali ditched us. Maybe we are a bit too weird for her taste??? LOL You know, with all the cardio that we have done, the lack of oxygen must really have done something to our brains. Esp August!!! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So yesterday I did 2 workouts b/c I was behind on my BFL workouts. I did HIIT on the elliptical and man was I drenched! And then in the evening I did PUB minus the abs. Today was supposed to be LB, but I could not get to the gym. They were waxing the hallways and all exits and entrances to the gym were blocked off. So I took a 1.3 mile walk in the 100 degree heat. YOWZA!!! So tonight I have to do some type of LB workout. I don't wanna!!!!!

Today they were doing interviews for PE teachers. The lesson that had to be taught was jumping rope. Me and my co-worker volunteered to be the "students" but nooooo, we weren't allowed. We each did get a free jumprope though.

Well, I best get going. Gannon is up to no good in the kitchen. Talk to you chickies later!
