I Hate Cardio! July 12

Cathlete
Morning ladies! Just a quick hello and then I"ve got to get ready for work. That is if my baby is feeling better. He forehead felt cool when I woke up at 4:30. Just have to take his temp b/c he cannot go to daycare if it is over 100.

Jan-Jan, I did get in the pool last night. I think it was another workout all together. I was throwing Gabe all over the pool and dragging him around in his tube. He had fun.

Kali, I'm glad that your DH is staying home. My DH has high cholesterol (SP??) too and he really doesn't watch what he eats. I cook healthy but it is the food that he eats when I'm not around that scares me.

Today's workout is HIIT on the elliptical and then I'm going to do the abs from C&W.

Well I better go and get dressed. Morning Aug, Michele, Kate, Diane and Char!

And Diane, come to think of it, the only haters that I"ve seen pics of are you, Char and Kali. If I ever have a pic taken that is 1/2 decent I"ll add it to my PT.

Have a cardio-lovin' day all! }(

Hi girls!! I'm really swamped with stuff this morning but I'll be back to chat later. Dh is leaving for a trip and I've got lots to do. I have LIS on tap for today. I'll BBL:)

Janjan--I LOVE your picture trail!! Your DD is squeezy, huggy cute:+ :*

Hi Everyone -

Dana - I'm glad the baby is feeling better. I brought some snacks to work this morning and was just thinking as I was packing them up that I miss seeing your menu for the day to give me ideas. :)

Michele - How is the coffeemake treating you? I had to break my ban on coffee for the day and had several cups this morning and another one sitting in front of me at work right now. Sleeping problems are killing me. I really need to figure out how to get to sleep early and stay asleep so I wake up early enough to work out and feel rested through out the day. I am thinking of taking a sleeping pill like Simply Sleep at 8:30 tonight and getting like 10 hrs of sleep.

Well, DH went out of town last night and took our home laptop with him. So I had not internet last night or this morning, and it was weird this morning not being able to check-in at home. It is so boring around the house without DH around.

Good morning Everyone-

How are we all doing on the rainy Hump Day? It's rainy here anyhoo.:(

Hope the little one can go to daycare Dana. I was in our pool last night for a little bit by myself. The boys both had ear infections recently and actually "don't" want to go in. We had tons of heat lightning so I got out and got the cover on just in time before the storm came.

Hi Michele and Diane. Hope you guys have a good day.

I have Bodymax today which is fun since it's cardio AND weights.

DH is going to the DR tomorrow to get some meds for the cholestoral. He is a wonderful cook and is already getting ideas for meals for us. I am sooo psyched that he wants to do this with me. Plus it will be good for the kids to start eating a bit healthier. I won't make them eat "everything" we do, but for the most part they will.

It's actually clearing up outside so I think I may walk before Bodymax. Have a good morning all to follow!

Talk to you ladies later!

Kali

Hey everyone-
Just got done with the workout (finally), its been a slow morning..I had to break down again and drink 1/2 cup of coffee. We think DD is teething and last night, oh lord it was bad. She feel asleep around 8 and then at 9 woke up screaming, I don't mean a little scream, I mean screaming at the top of her little lungs....gave her some Mortin and then some baby orajel (sp?) and the we put her in the car for a drive to settle her down. She did go back to sleep around 10:30 and slept all night, but man it sucked! I actually broke down and started crying while she was screaming. You just hate to see your little one cry like that and you can't fix it.

Today she is better.

Anyway, oh Michele I just saw your pic trail..you have some really cool stuff!!! How is LIS coming along today? I am pretty much banned from step for life with this knee so do a little xtra for me!

Diane- good golly it is HOT! These guy up north do not know hot! Am I right! I think they would last about maybe 1 day here in Aug-Oct and they would run out of this state. The humidity is NASTY!! We have ton of mosquitos too. Have you tried the pancake yet? I am eating mine right now.

Ok got to run and finish breakfast and get to cleaning up this house. Hello to Dana, Kate, Kali and August.

Jana - Yes it is icky and hot and I have to wear a suit when I walk outside. Yesterday I walked a few blocks downtown for lunch with friends and must have smelled pretty bad when I got there. Today I am going to La Griglia for a recruiting lunch, haven't been there in a while.

Did Tillman buy out La Grigila too? I used to love that place! I have not been there in a while. Let me know how it is.
Oh yes I remember the days of working downtown and having to wear a suit in this weather....so don't miss those days!! I feel for you!
3.gif

Raining? HuH? It is sunny and humidity free today. Whoopee!!
I'm glad your baby is doing better today. The baby thing is so exhausting. It is so much easier when they can talk and explain exactly what is going on with them.
Raining? Hmmmmm.
I have to go to like Diane. Busy day, busy day tomorrow too. The busier we get, the happier the kids are and the more tired I am. Nature really messed that whole thing up
GSLegs today and that is all. NO cardio. Why? Because I hate cardio!
Kate

Jana - Well, La Griglia was decidedly blah. Everything was just so bland. Granted I got something off the healthy entree list, but the dessert was blah and even the pizza bread was blah.

I think Tillman did buy it too...that could explain why it was blah!
Grotto was beyond blah! That sucks, that was a good restaurant

Hey ladies. I still haven't done my workout. I'm hoping to in the next few hours. I went up to daycare at 10:00 to give Gannon tylenol and ended up staying longer then expected, so I used that time as my lunch. He still has a fever so if it doesn't break by tomorrow morning, he is going back to the doctor. I don't care if they told me it is viral, it is going on 3 days now that he has a fever, there has got to be something wrong.

Jana I feel for you w/your DD. You know that they are in pain and feel like there isn't anything you can do. Plus all that screaming does make you feel like screaming too. Have any teeth popped through yet? I checked out your PT and she is such a cutie pie!

OK so us Northern gals probably couldn't make it through a southern summer but how about you southern gals coming up here in the winter???? Oh say sometime in the middle of January. We get some cooooold winters here in Pa.

Diane I hope you get some much needed sleep tonight. I didn't realize that you actually liked reading my meals so I can continue to post them. Just didn't want to bore anyone.

Kali - how was your workout? Did you get in a walk too?

Michele - have you done LIS? If not, get your butt a moving and a groovin'.

Hello to Kate & Aug and Char.

OK so here is my menu for today:

1: 1 high fiber eng muffin w/1 tbsp smuckers natural pb w/honey, 3 pc turkey sausage, coffee
2: 1/2 c. ff cottage cheese, 1 c. fresh fruit (cataloupe, watermelon, blueberries, grapes and strawberries)
3: 1 c. whole wheat pasta mixed with 1 c. spag sauce/ground turkey breast
4: 1 scoop of vanilla soy protein mixed w/2 tbsp ff cool whip, and 1/2 c. sugar free vanilla pudding (made w/skim milk)
5: 4 oz steak, 1/2 c. mashed potatoes (made w/skim milk and lite butter), 1. cup green beans and a small salad w/ff dressing)
6: 1/2 c. cottage cheese mixed w/ff yogurt

I have a co-worker who has lost 70lbs over the past year and a half. I believe she was up to 250lbs. But she has really, really slacked big time and is up 30lbs. She spent quite a bit of money going to a weight loss center and I do feel bad for her, but only she can lose the weight. She is eating horrible foods, McDonald's several times a week, pizza, fries, candy bars, bags of chips, etc. She keeps telling me that she is not ready to go back on her "diet". Our other co-worker has lost 150lbs so she is really trying to be supportive to our other co-worker who is struggling. So today I made her a 4-week exercise program and I really hope that she agrees to try it. I modified the BFL exercise program. Gave her 3 days of cardio, 30 minutes. But not HIIT, just suggested she try walking. Then I gave her 3 days of weight training. I broke u/b into 2 days w/3 different exercises for each muscle group. LB and abs on the same day. Right now she struggles w/3 pound dumbells but I told her to even do the LB w/out weights if it seems too difficult. I even told her that I would come to her house & show her how to do the exercises. I really fear that if she doesn't do something now she is going to gain back those 40lbs and be back right where she started. I know how hard it is to get motivated and stay motivated so I hope that between my other co-worker and myself we can support her. Like I said, I know that only she can do it but I want her to know that she CAN do it.

Well, the little guy is up from his nap so he needs to eat dinner and then I need to start dinner.

I will talk to you wonderful chickies later!

Have a great evening.

Dana - Thanks for the menu. I love cottage cheese and yogurt. I brought cottage cheese and fruit to work today, but never got the chance to eat it. Hope that your baby feels better soon.

Hey there!

Well, today is S&H tris and bis. I LOVE the S&H series. Half of the workout is spent in recovery LOL! But seriously, I do love this series. I do way better with slow and controlled movements. Says something about why I'm here at Cardiohatesville, eh?

Dana - is your DS feeling all better now? I like reading your meals, too, by the way! That's really great of you to work out a plan for your friend. I'm sure she'll be grateful.

Diane - all this talk about coffee, I decided to have some with my protein bar yesterday at work. I only had like 1/4 cup LOL, but it was pretty good.

Kali - that's great that your DH is so receptive to trying out a new eating lifestyle. Extra great for you since he cooks!

Jana - I checked out your trail and saw your DD! She's a total cutie!

Kate - I'm so relieved to hear that you are "only" doing GS legs. That workout is so dang long-feeling.

Michele - You still up?

Hey Haters!

Checking in here late, but I wanted to say "hello" to everyone.

Kali,

Great to hear your dh is participating in eating healthier! Way to go! And plus he will be cooking? Geez, my hubby won't cook. If I get ill, he will buy food and bring it home which makes me more ill. LOL!:p :7

August,

I love that series too. I like control. I don't like to feel "out of control" like when I do cardio and wonder when the heart attack is coming. LOL!

Michele,

What is LIS again?

Jan Jan,

I already talked to you.

Dana,

You got it going on. Love the meal plan.

Well you all, I hope you sweat yourselves into hysteria tomorrow!
Cheers~

I may not be Southern, I live in CA, but I can tell you this: There is no way I could get through October to April without constant crying and whining about the weather!

Hi all,

I've had kind of a bad day. My DH left for a conference and won't be back for several days:-( . It has been so hot and humid here that it's affecting my health. I developed a migraine today and slept for a couple of hours this afternoon and I just haven't had an ounce of energy. Sorry to be such a drag. I skimmed the thread but I honestly don't remember much of what was in it, but I'll try.

Dana, you're so kind to take the time to put together a work out for your friend. I hope she knows how lucky she is to have you in her life.

Janjan, thanks for the compliment. I've been collecting antiques for a few years now. I don't have much but I love what I've collected thus far. Again, the pics of your DD are precious:+ .

August, I had a thought about your soap. You should get one of those butter molds--the type that looks like an ice cube tray for teeny tiny ice cubes. You can moosh your soap into it and make it into little shapes;) :7 . As for my sleep pattern for the day, see ^^^.

Diane, I think we have the same model coffeemaker. I LOVE it and I'm glad, too, because until now I've always had Krups and I was very nervous to switch brands. I almost returned it today because I thought the "Auto Off" function wasn't working but I was wrong and it's fine.

Kate, yes, the weather here in the midwest can be oppressive in the summer. We tend to have hot, humid weather here in Ohio. We've had a lot of rain, too, which just adds to that thick, close air. I think this is why I ended up with a migraine today:-(

Char Char, I just can't remember what you said in your post...hmmm...oh! LIS means Life in Suburbia, or Lost in Space, or Loser is Sedentary,..... :p. Okay, it really means Low Impact Step.

Kali, I'm awfully sorry about your DH's cholesterol level but WOO HOO!!!! I'm so friggin glad he gets to stay home!!!!!

Okay, I'm going to read for a bit and go to bed. I'll see you in the morning.:* :*
