I Hate Cardio Chick-in, Thursday, 3/16

Miss Lee

Cathlete
Hello girls! I think I'm really going to have to plunge right into it today or it won't get done. This will be my 5th---FIFTH day of cardio in a row! This thread really is helping me to stay on task and I hope you gals are benefitting from it as well. Somehow it just feels good to know that I'm not alone in my torture. It's so hard to check in with those cardio lovin maniacs (I mean that in the kindest way) because I feel like I'm from another planet or something. Anyhoo, I prefer a little whine with my workout--LOL!

I'm pouring over my vast library of Leslie Sansone walking DVD's and haven't decided which one I'm going to do today, but I think I'm going with one of the 3 mile w/o's.

Michele:)

Well, if the name fits!:7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7

Hey, I like it. We're the chicks---the CARDIO chicks!

Michele

Way to go, Michele! Five days in a row? Heck, I don't even do that much a week. Great job!

A tiny little suggestion... maybe call this thread "I Conquered Cardio" - something that sounds a bit more triumphant? Just a thought.

Yeah, I can be a chick in' for cardio! LOL! I am doing Low Max today though so I ain't scared! I am also going to be doing some of PUB. I will do my lifting first though because the cardio will take away my strength if I don't.

Have a great day girls doing what you hate! LOL!

Charlotte~~

Thanks Shannon! I appreciate your encouragement and it's always welcome, but I think I'll stick with the name. I rather like it and I think it fits.

Michele

Hello fellow haters! I'm doing my usual, 3.5 miles at lunch. I was going to do KickMax at 4:00 this morning but I shut off the alarm and got up at 5:00 which is my usual time.

Michelle, do you have Leslie's 5 mile walk? I was thinking of getting it but wasn't sure how it was.

Hi Dana. My, you had some rather ambitious plans for this morning--LOL! You are doing so well with your walks. You go, girl!

Yes, I do have Leslie's 5 mile walk. I like it--it goes pretty fast. There isn't a warm up and you just get right into it. Each mile is different. Here's the breakdown:

It about a 70 minute work out from start to finish. You can do the whole 5 miles or choose one of the premixes that allow you to do 3 separate 3-mile walks.

Mile 1: uses light handweights; about 14 min.
Mile 2: incoporates light jogging; the quickest pace at about 10 min.
Mile 3: uses the ab belt--not sure about the duration
Mile 4: about 12 min.; no boosters are used
Mile 5: uses the stretchie band and lasts about 12 min
Premix 1: miles 4, 2, 1
Premix 2: miles 4, 2, 3
Premix 3: miles 4, 2, 5

Have a great work out today!

Michele

ambitious plans - that's all they were, plans. HA!!!!

Do you have to use all the "accessories" with the 5-mile walk? I don't have that ab belt thingy. Is the band in #5 the same type that Cathe uses in HC?

Dana,

I do have all the accessories but you can get by without them. I wouldn't go out of my way to get the ab belt. She really doesn't use it that much anyway and you could easily just substitute a resistance band or use light dumbells. And I'm not sure if she uses the same band as Cathe in HC because I don't have that DVD, but it's just a plain old dynaband. I have them in red and green and I use the green one because it gives more resistance. I've been thinking about ordering some heavier bands. You could probably just use resistance tubing if you have that.

Just quickly jumping into Cardiohateville to congratulate Dana on the 7 pounds lost. Keep up the good cardio-hating work!

O.k. girls, I just finished PUB (shoulders, triceps and biceps). I have no energy left for lowmax. I need a nap. Somebody motivate me please to do lowmax...I ain't feeling the love for it right now.

Charlotte~~

Charlotte, I love your new avatar. Holy crap! Those are some nice guns you're sporting!

I think you did such BIG cardio yesterday that you should just go for a walk or even rest. Your body is probably telling you that you've had enough already. I'm serious now. I'm not just trying to be an enabler--LOL!

Do something light, then tackle Lowmax tomorrow.

Michele

Michele,

Are you the angel of cardio now? Where are your horns? I have BBM and squats scheduled tomorrow. I have to do Lowmax today...you better get out your pitch fork too and throw away those wings and halo. I need your help! I gotta do it!!!! I don't want to!!! I swear I must be bipolar! LOL!
