I Hate Cardio Check-in April 26th

Where is everyone? Snoozing still?

I actually woke up this morning and went for a run and it felt pretty great. The weather has cooled down here, so was much more enjoyable. This week is 13 min running, 2 min walking, so it is getting harder. I think I could just run 30 min straight at this point without a problem, but I might as well stick to the program.

So what is on tap for everyone today?

Anyone seen Ellen?

Did my S&H tris and bis, and up next is S&H legs! Love it! No hate! No hate!

On a side note, I just realized this an hour ago but I was out downtown rushing around getting to a dinner meeting and ended up throwing away a paper bag that had been keeping my homemade protein bar (that I finished) and a big bottle of water (that I finished) and $50 in an envelope (that my associate paid me back and stuck in the bag while I was out rushing around). x( x( x(

Then I got to the dinner meeting to find that the restaurant was a specialty place that only served a huge variety of veggies...all wrapped in a thin, flabby, oily, fatty, highly fat-saturated pork. x( x( x(

But I've got some good DOMS in my arms so :p :p :p
 
Howdy fellow haters!

Diane, I'm so glad you started the thread this morning. It was hectic arond her this morning--my DH left for a business trip and I was helping him get his stuff together. Then my tree man and my water softener man came by.

Today is Body Fusion day and lets hope I don't kill myself trying to do it--lol!

Diane, I think it's wise of you to stick with your program. It's better IMHO to go slow and gradually build yourself up. I think you avoid the risk of serious injury that way. I'm sure it helped that it wasn't so friggin hat outside, too. It's cooler here as well, and I turned my furnace back on yesterday.

August, I wish I had money to throw away--lol! Oh my, that would seriously bum me out. Why would anybody put 50 bucks in a paper bag? Good luck with your S&H work outs...more like S&M, eh?

Hey haters! Today's workout is S&H legs (hey August!) and I think I'll do CoreMax #2. Just took my walk and it is chilly out.

And nope, no Ellen in sight. Everyone said she ran off with the pool boy and now I"m starting to believe it.

Let me start by saying that this morning I woke up in a good mood knowing that it is finally March in California (rain rain and lousy weather, unseasonable it has been). Well, it all turned around when I realized that today is fifth cardio day in a row. The thought of it made me nauseous(sp?).
But I got through it. I did 45 mins of Turbo Jam. Why the heck does everyone grin in there workouts? I don't mean just smile, I mean grin ear to ear---are they on something??? How is it possible to get through all that cardio and look so darn happy? Whatever they are doing, I need it.
My feelings went back to good when I did the floor part of Legs and Glutes, ah....floor work that is guaranteed to work those thighs. Oh, those thighs. I think thighs should be removed from the human body.
Oh well, tomorrow is another day.............

Yes I am late today..what can I say??
Let's see I attempted to run again today and made it about 1.5 mins before the pain set in so I went back to a walk, and tried it again 1 min at a time, but let's face it ladies, running just ain't in the cards for this chick right now. Then I called up DH and demanded that he find someone to watch the baby while I go and get this knee looked at before it gets any worse. I am tried of being nice about it, no one should have to live in pain! Got the lame as* excuse from him again, "what do you want me to do"....well tell your mother to snap out of it and starting acting like a normal human again and this can be solved....do I sound like a total bit*h or what??? Ask me if I give 2 sh**ts about it....PMS is kicking in, can anyone tell???

Char Char~ sent you a reply check it and email me back if you get a chance. I will be following your rotation, sounds good and do able!

Dana~ yummy, going to make those for dinner tonight, that was so cute what Gabe said!! hehehe...how is the 12 week starting out for you?

Michele~ you crack me up. I must hear all about BF, and you are going to be fine! Hopefully injury free. You might want to close all the blinds just in case the neighbors happen to drive by.

DMoney~ Yeah! Good job on the running! It is sooo nice out side, yesterday my hair was stuck to my head with all the humidity! yuck!

August~ I want to hear all about the 2nd attempt with KM challenge, keep us updated and you best try it again or I am sending Char Char after you and that's one Toasty you don't want on your booty.

I have a question for everyone. Is everyone following some sort of rotation or schedule (Michele I know you are) whether Cathe's or a personal one, or do you just do what you feel like doing for that day. If you are doing a schedule, what do you do? I am still trying to figure out my schedule and how to fit it all in.

I am currently trying to do 4 days of running, 2 days of cross training (Cathe cardio or machines at the gym), 3-4 days of weight training, and 3-4 days of abs, but haven't really figured out how to fit it in my schedule. It ends up being more like 4 days of running, 2 days of weights, and 2 days of abs.
 
Hey DMoney- I do have a rotation, but I have a little more time to work out so it might help some, but might be too time consuming. I also switch it up every week, i.e. I do 2 days of step 1 week and the next week 2 days of kickboxing, and then 1 week add in bootcamp. Here is my rotation:

Week 1
Sun-LowMax step only, 45 mins of yoga
Mon- Cardio & Weights, Coremax
Tue-KPC, Ab section C&W PUB + Ab
Wed- Run/walk 30-40 mins, GS legs (standing only),+ 30 mins pilates
Thur-KM + Blasts+ coremax
Fri- Run/Walk 30 mins, ME+ abs from PUB
Sat-Step portion C&W+ floor work GS legs+ 30 mins pilates

***keep in mind I do this when not on the DL list****I am doing less due to knee right now

Week 2
Sun-KM w/blasts, Standing GS legs+ coremax
Mon-Run/walk 30 mins+ PUB w/ab
Tue-Off
Wed-Run/walk 30 mins + L&G floor work+coremax
Thur-KPC+abs
Fri-ME
Sat-LowMax 1-5 with blasts+coremax

Everyday too I do 25 pushups, 40 tri dips and aim for 2 hours of ab work during commericals if I watch TV.

You would think with all the hard work I would not have an issue loosing these last few lbs, but hit major plateau! Char Char will save me!
 
Wow Jana, your rotation looks awesome!

Dana, the April rotation looks good. Combined with the walks, you must be a good shape. I have never been able to follow an entire Cathe rotation before, I always get sidetracked.

I think I need to figure out a realistic rotation for myself, so that I don't feel so bad with I don't complete the whole thing.
 
I wonder if I'll ever be able to do the big girl rotations. I don't mean that you girls are big, I'm talking about the more advanced work outs as opposed to the beginner/intermediate ones--lol!

I think I would die if I did Jana's or Dana's rotations!

Kate! Glad to see you today. FIVE!!! days of cardio in a row!!!! Do you have a death wish or something!?

My DH just called to tell me that he has a stress fracture of his foot. He's in a boot and has to make an appointment for a thorough exam as soon as he's through globe trotting. The poor guy! That foot's been bothering him for quite awhile now and he should've taken care of it eons ago. Do you hear me, miss Jana! Can your DH watch the kids while you go to the doctor?

My DH has a bad knee too so we decided to go to the Dr together and one goes in while the other watches DD and then switch..haha..

How is BF? Yes you will be able to play with the big girls. If you really want my 2cents...1-2 days per week do either C&W or KM or KPC and just push yourself as hard as you can, I mean push, to where you are on the floor so that way it's not a big shock when you step up. I could not work out for 7 months with DD after I had her, lord I just pushed myself and just did it, it works.
Just my opinion......again just an opinion....
 
I started doing Cathe with her intermediate workouts. I thought I was in pretty good shape until I found Cathe and I am humbled.
I am doing cardio six days per week because I am punishing myself. I allowed myself to experiment with cheese-its and went crazy. I didn't really believe they are fattening (I write this while rolling my eyes)and wanted to prove it. Now I am paying the ultimate price--lots of cardio.
I think the English of past should have punished treason with cardio instead of chopping off heads. I think it would have been a better deterrent.

LOL! Well, I certainly agree with you about that:eek: :p

Okay, I'm never, NEVER going to be able to get through that last combo in Body Fusion. I get so dizzy I could puke. I know you're all laughing at the Mayor of Weenie Town, but I just suck at turns and pivots and lunging over the step type stuff. ;(

Does somebody...ANYBODY have a move I can substitute for a pivot? I'll start modifying there and if I need further adjustments I'll give a holler.

substitute for a pivot? Whenever I cannot follow and that is often, I just do a step. And all those pivots make me dizzy. I am getting old, I guess. One day I will ride a rollercoaster and get so dizzy that I will never be able to ride again. And then what???
no, not more cardio!
