I Hate Cardio Check-In, 4/6

{{{{{BIG HUGS}}}}} for you. Don't be so hard on yourself. You can't do it all so just do the best you can. That's all anyone can ask of themselves. Have you tried having a heartfelt discussion with your DH? Does he truly understand how much you need his help? I know that I have to spell it out for my DH sometimes. You really do have a handful and you can't ask the impossible of yourself. Assess your situation and prioritize. Hey, the house isn't going anywhere...it will still be there for you to clean tomorrow;) My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Okay, my cardio is not done yet, but geez-o-pete, it's only about 1:00. This is early for me. I usually do my work outs in the evening. I haven't spent the whole day on my butt though, and I've accomplished some things around my house. I'm gonna do it...I swear!

Dana~ Hugs, big hugs, don't get frustrated! I know exactly where you are coming from. My DH does not help out one bit with DD when I am trying to workout. I have asked him to get up on Sat to watch her while I go outside and run and he does not get up so I just hop on the treadmill. I even got yelled at today because she was crying while I was workout and I did not pick her up to make her stop crying. I was like whatever....You can only do so much, you are only 1 woman and being a full time mom, full time employee and full time wife takes a superwoman. If you can't get to it one day, then it's ok. The fact that you take the time to try and find a way to workout as much as you do is more than most single women do. I have sooo many single friends who go to the gym maybe once a week and I just think they are nuts for not workout more. If you can't workout one day, just really watch what you eat and you will still loose weight. Good news is diet has a lot to do with weight loss, so keep that in mind. Even Superwoman took a day off, I mean come on you know Superwoman plopped her butt down infront of the couch with a bag of chips and dip (ummm sounds so yummy right now!)!

Ok so here was the question I am disputing: The assignment question was what does moral ethics in business mean to you? So I answered the question what it meant to me...right....well my professor said NO and put the exact defination on her response and gave me a horrid grade. So, I emailed her back and asked what exactly did I do wrong, I answered the question as to what it MEANT to ME not the exact defination. Well, she spat back at me and told me that is not what the assignement called for and if I wanted to question my grade any more I would need to set up a time to meet with her. OK, tell me what you guys think.....

I guess Michele is doing her cardio now? Well I am all done with mine so I can be chatty,right? Tomorrow I am taking a rest day so don't be looking for me. I will be shopping so I know I am going to be too tired when I get home. I will get in my cardio...running for the bargains!!!!!
 
I am happy to report that my cardio...that EXTRA cardio that was NOT on my rotation...is done--lol! I'm glad I did it, too. I've got a lot of tension to work out right now.

So, now I need to do the work out that's ON my rotation-sheesh! It's only a stretch so no biggie.

Jana, I'd say your prof is:
a) in the midst of PMS
b) in the throes of some phase of menopause
c) just an idiot and someone who likes to be difficult
d) all of the above

I choose c. Sounds like she just wrote a bad assignment question that was very unclear. I would just say tell her that there was a misunderstanding on what the assignment was (but DON'T imply that she wrote a bad assignment, would only make things worse!) and ask if she wouldn't mind if you redo the assignment now that you are clear on what she was looking for. When it is all said and done, people that want to hire you will only see the grade on the transcript, and you can't really explain that your prof was a idiot, with pms, who wrote bad questions. It sucks but just realize she is an idiot and cover your own a$$. :)
 
I am going with she is just a bit** and a complete idiot.
My advisor said to call her and try and talk it out, but I am just like over it and plan on kissing her A** in the future.

I want you all to know that I have completed the ACTUAL work out scheduled on my rotation today, which was a segment of Total Body Stretching, and it's only 3:30. Wow! that's a real accomplishemnt for moi. Thanks for all your nagging--LOL!

Way to go Michele! I didn't get around to doing my gym workout during lunch, my DH asked me to lunch and I wanted to go ;-) So I am going to try and get off early enough to do a Cathe weight workout at home, I haven't done one in a little while and I am missing it! I also actually feel bad that I haven't done any cardio today! How sick is that. I think I am going to try and add a couple days of cross training to my running program and some how try to fit in cardio 6 days a week. It will be very very hard, since I have only been able to squeeze 1 hr of exercise a day, and this schedule would require me to actually wake up in the morning!

Here is what I am thinking for a rotation. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

M: 30 min run + core
Tues: AM: full body Cathe endurance workout LUNCH: cross training on elliptical for 45 min
Wed: 30 min run + core
Thurs: AM: Cathe cardio (kickboxing or step) LUNCH: upper body workout at the gym
Fri: 30 min run + core
Sat: Cathe lower body workout
Sun: 30 min run + core

There are no rest days, but a rest day usually finds it's way in the week anyway, usually on Saturday or Friday. It just don't know how to fit in everything I want to do! I also want to try and add in pilates and yoga back into my routine too! There are yoga classes at my gym during lunch several days a week, so maybe can go to those during lunch. I also have tons of yoga videos I love to do at home. I just don't know how to fit it all in! My main focus right now is on running and cardio, so maybe I will only do weights 2 times a week and aim for a 1 hr of pilates or yoga 1-2 times a week. Anyway suggestions? I only have 1 hr at most in the mornings, and then about 45 mins during lunch about 2-3 days a week.
 
I know I am replying to my own post, but I just had a different idea. My best friend, who is a marathon runner, does a one body part per day rotation along with her running and cross training. If I do this, then I would have time to add weight lifting at the end of a running session (or even at night after work if I run out of time in the morning) and still be able to do the other things I want to do. I will just have to take a full hour to workout on days that I run. Once runs get longer than 30 mins in the morning, I will have to reevaluate, and maybe just do 2 full body workouts a week???

So for example:

Mon: 30 min run + GS back + core
Tues: Cathe cardio LUNCH: yoga at the gym
Wed: 30 min run + GS biceps + core
Thurs: 30 min of Imax 2 or Low Max + GS Chest LUNCH: Yoga at the gym
Fri: 30 min run + GS triceps core
Sat: Cathe lower body workout
Sun: 30 min run + GS shoulders + core
 
Diane, I think the 2nd option seems more doable. That first plan is pretty ambitious considering how busy you are. I think you should go with the 1 body part per day and if you have spare time then you can work in some other stuff. I really believe you can set yourself up for failure if your goals are overreaching. Great job though! I find that every little bit of success motivates me to do more.

Thanks Michele - I am going to go home and do 30 min of Imax 2 and GS chest today. That will be a hard workout (at least for me!)
 
Reporting in late to say I sort of did 30 min of Cardio and Weights. Was feeling "off" today..couldn't pick up the steps. Then DD got home from school and there went my ooompf to finish.

I'll give it another whirl on Saturday. Tomorrow I'm back to my fav HSC.
