I Hate Cardio Check-In, 4/6

Miss Lee

Cathlete
Good morning Dana, Jana, Diane, Ellen, Toasty, and maybe Robin! (and anyone else that cares to join in;-) )

I'm pleased to report that I did not have a single piece of candy OR a cookie yesterday for fear of what you guys would say to me--LOL! My rotation only calls for a segment from Total Body Stretching today and I'm debating about adding a light cardio w/o to it. I'm playing it by ear because I have a lot to accomplish at home today. My DH will actually be home at a reasonable hour tonight and it's been eons since we've shared a nice meal together. I'm focused on making a warm welcome home for him.

Jana, you had asked about LIS in my rotation. This rotation is 3 months long and LIS isn't introduced until the 7th week. If I make good progress I may speed things up a bit. I did BS for the 2nd time last night and made it all the way through with some minor trips (those dang around the world thingies), but I can only manage it on the platform. I don't want to advance until I can do BS with 1 set of risers. Also, I haven't added arm movements too much because I'm still focused on learning the fancy foot work!

So, how about the rest you gals? Were you able to stay on task yesterday? I look forward to reading your posts!

Michele

Good Morning Cardio Haters!

As you know I played hookey yesterday...got my hair colored, got a pedi and now I have pretty pink toes!!

I also skipped my workout.....BUT am back on track today! I actually did not eat bad yesterday, and went to bed a little hungry.

Do..I'll try Cardio and Weights today.

DD is home sick from school and I have major projects to finish for my work.

Mivchele.. I've finally mastered LIS (not the blasts!) and am actually a little *bored* (gasp) with it. It doesn't have the most motivating music. But, the routine is not hard to learn.

BBL!!! Have great day! Pool guys are here! I don't see the hot one though...Hmmmmm x(

Hello Haters!

Well I got in my run yesterday (5-6 miles) I suppose it was. Was out for 1 hour. Then I did Chest/Back earlier and cranked up the weight a notch...my bra wanted to pop open again! Next time I go up, it will be flying off my body!!!!!! LOL! So anyhoo, I went into Imax 2 shortly after the run...made it thru 2 blast and that was all I had in me. I was gonna try later in the evening, but I had to listen to my tired worn out body and didn't. SO SCREAM AT ME IF YOU WANT!!!!!!! LOL!

Today will be a nice circuit workout, doing abs and a few more of the Imax 2 blast moves. It is all good though...I like to jump and act like a child!

Michele,

Good to hear your eats have been sinless. Now you can sleep better at night knowing we ain't coming for ya! Sinner! LOL! Now if you debate about doing cardio, what do you think will happen? You won't do it. You will just have to do it and not debate. You can find the time to do it...just don't get on here yackety yacking as much! LOL! You need to do it!

Hope you have a nice evening with your DH. My DH says our meals have gotten boring lately. I don't make any mash potatoes. Fusses at me when I don't make gravy (gravy is grease, ya know)? I love tacos and make them often and he is tired of them too. So what are you going to make?

Ellen,

I colored my hair too yesterday. It needed it bad. No pedi for me. I don't want anyone touching my toes..much less looking at them! LOL!

Let us know how the C/W go today! I hope you sweat alot!!!!!!

You sound like me....checking out the pool guys! LOL! Lately some of the men that have been coming over to my house for service stuff just smell bad, etc.

Well, that makes 3 of us because I colored my hair yesterday, too.

Ellen, sorry your HOT pool boy is MIA. I'll keep my fingers crossed that he turns up later. Good luck with C&W.

Toasty, I was very worried that you would be hot on my trail if I ate a single bit of crap yesterday--LOL! And you're right, I need to do the cardio. I'll give her a go! Great job on your run yesterday, I can't even believe you attempted Imax 2 after that. You're my hero! Good luck on your circuit:D

Michele

I LOVE CARDIO!!!!

Well, maybe I don't love actually doing the cardio (yet) but I do love what it has done for me. I stepped on the scale this morning for the first time in a couple of weeks and I am down 2 lbs and 1.5% body fat!! Those are the two pounds I have been trying to lose for 6 months, that last of the weight I gained on my honeymoon eating like an absolute pig. I know that weight flucuates a lot, but I it is right before TOTM when I usually gain a couple of pounds, so it is amazing that I lost. I haven't really changed my diet, and have actually been more relaxed on the eating lately (eating moderately healthy about 70% of the time, but still having treats and eating out).

So glad those pounds are gone. My short term goals now are to fit into my favorite pair of jeans and to complete my run/walk program and run 30 mins straight without absolutely dying. I haven't tried on those jeans lately, but I don't want to try them on right now and just get discouraged after such a big victory. So I will give it another month or so, or just the next time I am feeling skinny.

So yesterday I did my run/walk after work at the gym, went pretty well.

Today I once again didn't wake up in time to do my Cathe weight work, so I am doing a full body endurance workout at the gym during lunch. I have not done that much Cathe lately and it makes me sad! I mostly run and do weights at the gym because I don't wake up in the morning. I have just been needing lots of sleep and going to bed too late (reading Harry Potter again).

WOO-HOO!!!! Way to go, Diane! I'm so happy for you. I know you miss Cathe work, but you're doing something and that's what counts. Don't underestimate the importance of a good night's sleep in your battle to lose weight;) Good luck with your work out today!

I weigh in tomorrow and I'm anxious to see how my cardio has paid off. I've been faithful to my work outs this week and my jeans seem a little loose so I have my fingers crossed. I didn't lose anything last week but didn't gain either.

Michele

Hello haters,

Well I have already finished my 40 min run/walk and Muscle Endurance this morning. Just got up and did it. Even managed to squeeze in an episode of "Sell this House" on A&E. DD got up a little early this morning so I was up and ready.

Michele-LIS is ok. Music is really, really, really bad, but moves are fun. It's a good workout. Glad to hear the diet has been good, I was good for the most part, we did have mexi for dinner, but I only had 1 fajita and then ate more chicken w/out tortilla. None the less got up and worked it all off this morning. We are having challenges with MIL she is 73 and suffering from major panic attacks and she is still in the hospital. She won't accept she is having them making it really hard to help treat her. They did ever single test in the book on her yesterday and nothing wrong with her. I had panic attacks in the past and I know what they feel like, but you can't get better until you accept them. They were trying to give her a xanax last night and she started crying and would not take it. She thinks something is stuck in her throat, but they have scoped it and looked and there is nothing. It's panic attacks, but she won't believe anyone, so she won't eat and she won't sleep. It's not a good situation. We don't know what we are going to do. It's stressful to say the least. I got yelled at by Char-Char yesterday because I was trying to skip out on LowMax, but I finally did it and felt better. I actually needed it to release some stress.

High rolla' (Diane)- how life in the law today? What kind of law do you practice? I have a friend who is a insurance defense lawyer, but she is the worst lawyer I have ever seen. She has never even won a JP case. I feel bad for her she is really sweet, but she I guess just has bad luck! Looks like it is going to be a nice weekend, I think I might actually get out to run this weekend (this is if DH would get up on time to watch DD).

Char-Char..I mean Drill Sergent...how is life for you today?

Robyn- Are you MIA or have you switched over to the "other side"?!

Dana- How is work. How are the boys? Gannon doing ok in day care? I actually want to talk to you PM about kids in day care. I have to go back to work soon and have no idea what to look for in a day care so sugguestions would be helpful. I am scared to death to put DD is day care, but the xtra income would help, I have a few more months so no rush. Going for one of your crazy 7 mile walks again today?

Ellen- Am crushed about the hot pool boy. What is up with that?

Off must shower and get DD ready. We have a Super Target less then 1 mile from my new house and I am already in trouble with DH for going in that place...have an excuse today...DD needs diapers! hehhehehe...let's see what else I can find!

BBL

Have a good day everyone :+

Hi Jana!

Wow, little miss show off!!! lol! I need to get moving before Toasty comes over and gives me what for.

I'm so sorry about your MIL. My sister has panic attacks, too and I understand how frightening they are. I'll keep her in my prayers and please keep us posted.

Oh, I'll keep you and Diane in my thougts and prayers during hurricane season. I can't imagine how terrible it must be to go through a hurricane.

Well, Toasty says I need to quit yacking and I think I better listen, or else--lol!

Michele

Marleywoman,

Wow, you had a great workout this morning. So good for you! I have been just dandy so far today. Eating my protein like a good girl and chugging down my water with a shot of diet coca cola! LOL! I got to do pushups though...24 of them! Gosh, darn it!

Diane,

Looks like your heading in the right direction with your weight/body fat. Sounds like your having a good day!

Hi Jana -

Life in the law on this particular day is boring, but I am happy I don't have pressing deadlines today! Boring is better that crazy! Thanks for asking. I am a trial attorney doing general commercial litigation at a large law firm, meaning I mostly defend large companies in lawsuits. For example, the case I work on most of the time lately is the defense of directors and officers of an oil and gas company that went bankrupt and is now being sued by the trustee in bankruptcy. The group I work for also does some high end plaintiffs work, but only cases that bring in big bucks, usually not individuals. For example, right now we are suing the nations' largest insurance broker for taking secret commissions and price fixing insurance quotes for large companies. Since I am only in my second year of law practice, I haven't really had the chance yet to "lose" a case, but have done several depositions and court hearings. I actually "won" a small case that my partner let me handle recently. We were the ones being sued, but I ended up making the plaintiff pay us! That was fun! Anyway, sorry to babble on about work. You are probably sorry you asked!

See you get up and do your cardio and you don't get yelled at.hehe!

Oh yeah hurricane season. I think I am moving to New Zeland during the season. I am over it. It was crazy last year during Rita. Most people don't live anywhere near the coast unless they live near Galveston, but everyone decided to leave town and it was a mess. You can't put 2+ million people on the road at the same time and expect everyone to get out. It was the craziest thing I ever saw in my life. We left town at 5 PM and were on a 2 lane backwoods highway road, the pavement melted onto the tires it was so hot. We had me, my DH, 1 dog and 1 cat, 4 xtra cans of gas, tons of stuff all piled into a Pathfinder. We came back the day it hit, it hit at like 4 am and we came back around noon that day and the town was a empty. It was crazy and freaky.

Diane-
You go girl! Wow, that is really cool what you do. Not boring at all. Keeps you busy, huh? Pat on the back!
I am only a measly number cruncher when I am not being a retired number cruncher. Uh, I have to go back to work soon and am not looking forward to it. Working on the Master's and CPA right now. Really want to be a nurse, but DH said no "full time school" right now, so can only do what I can do.

I hate one of my dam professors right now, she is such a Bit**
She is driving me nuts and I have a feeling might give me a really bad grade because I challenged her on a question.

Jana - It seems like the women professors or bosses are the worst! They feel that they had such a hard time getting to where they are that they have to make other women suffer as well. I would rather work with men any day, they are usually much more respectful to women (usually, but some men are pigs).

I have found, at least in the work environment, that if a women is a b**ch and has power issues, then you just step aside and let her do her thing and don't challenge her. If she is your superior, like a professor, she could ruin you on purpose. I have seen it done at work. Women can be vindictive and catty.

Diane, I agree with you 110% and, as a nurse, I would caution you, Jana, to consider the "Estrogen Factor" if you wish to pursue a career in nursing. It can be brutal! It seems there are more men going into the profession nowadays and that can't be anything but good news!

Michele

>Oh Michele -
>
>Have you done cardio yet?}(

A...well...ahem...not exa...I'm doing it right now!!

Michele

I am going into a few Imax 2 blast so everyone else better be sweating too! I am still tired from yesterday so I hope these legs will move for me today! LOL!

Hi ladies. Just got back from my walk. No Jana, not 7 miles today, just 3.5. You all seem to being great!

Diane congrats on your weight loss!
Jana - you had a great workout this a.m.
Char - your workout sounds awesome (as always)
Michele - did you do your cardio YET???

Sorry if I forgot anyone else.

I'm so disgusted w/myself lately. I am finding it harder and harder to squeeze in time for a workout. Last night I was planning on doing the LB premix from MM, 30 min on elliptical +abs. I got through maybe 10 minutes of my workout and Gannon started crying so I had to stop that. My DH will not help out at all with the kids so that puts an end to my working out. Last night I had tears in my eyes b/c I just feel like things are out of control w/me. I have all intentions to workout and then before I know it 9:00 rolls around and I"m still trying to get things done in the house. It is so frustrating. Anyway, that is my rant for the day. :p

Dana,

I have days like that too. It happens to all of us. Just life. Don't let it upset you. You have to remember you can't control everything, and this is coming from a control freak, like myself! I fight between housecleaning and workouts...ALL THE TIME! I somehow manage both, not sure how.
