I Hate Cardio Check-In, 4/17

OMG!! It's the Monday after Easter and I feel like CRAP!! Despite all my good intentions, I waaaaaay over indulged and ate my weight in candy. I could not resist the strong magnetic pull of those #$%^$ chocolate eggs and Resee's PB eggs. There is nothing but pure sugar flowing through my veins right now and I have sworn off all candy and junk foods for the foreseeable future. I hope you all had a nice Easter weekend!

I am pleased to report that, as of Saturday, I had lost about 1 3/4 lbs from the previous week (although I'm sure I gained it back yesterday;( ). I kept up with my rotation last week and even threw in HS Circuit yesterday morning as a counterbalance for the crap eating. Today is Basic Step with a lower body add on and I hope I'm not too sluggish to get through it.:eek: ;(

For those of you who missed it, we have picked up a couple of new residents here in Cardiohateville, August and Cassidine, and I hope they will both check-in again today! Our fickle hater Robin may need to check-in if she ever got her hands on some cookies--lol!

Oky, I'm off to get started. I have a lot of work to do along with my work out. I'll stop back later.

Congrats on your weight loss! WAY TO GO!!!!

I have a Easter candy dish at home with no candy in it. Just don't buy any, but if I made it down to Maryland to see my folks, we would have had some for sure. So glad I didn't get a bunch of candy this year from everyone because if it is around I will have some. So I think you are just going to need to sweat it all off today!!! I am not familiar with basic step. Was wondering what BS stood for. Thought you were just saying you were going to Bull Sh@t us all for the day!!! LOL! I was going to run today for 50 mins, but saved by the rain!!!!! No running for me. So will have to substitute for something else...KPC, Kickboxing or Step Blast? I did a interval run yesterday after PUB. I really think I like the interval run because it is fun...I get to sprint down the road like a maniac for a short time. A steady run is just something like eating fish to me....just bland. I haven't reached the point yet where I can really enjoy it. By the time I want to enjoy it, my legs soon give out. So I have decided to check in when I run since I hate it for now and the days I don't run, I will just check in anyways just to torment the heck out of the rest of you!!!! So how's that????? Sounds fun to me!!!!!}(

Hi Everyone -

Michele - I completely relate. I ate like cr@p all weekend. I haven't stepped on the scale because I know I just gained back the 3 pounds I had lost (I lost 1 more pound right before Easter). We ate out at a restaurant every day, Friday Saturday and Sunday. Lots of candy. It was just horrible. I did a run/walk for 30 mins on Friday and Saturday, but skipped all of my weight workouts that were planned. I have been skipping a lot of weight workouts lately, something I need to focus on this week.

I am just not going to step on the scale and get myself down. I will just continue my workouts and step on the scale one morning that I feel skinny again. No reason to get myself all upset.

Today's plan is a 30 min run/walk after work (didn't wake up this morning) and then chest work and core.

Work is crazy again this week. I feel like I am about to have a heart attack at all times.

Michele-congrats! good job on the weight loss. I stepped on the scale but am using my rights to plead (pleed or plead..Diane some help here) the 5th. So I got up and did a run/walk for 30 mins and 1/2 of GS legs. My knee I think is going to give out any day now, I am just waiting. Calling Dr's to go and check it out. Not fun. Good work, and I firmly believe everyone needs a day to eat, you can't be on a diet forever you will go insane.

Diane~ you are too young for a heart attack, but I hear you sista. End of the month for me was always horrid at work. Hang in there and remember you are too young to have a hear attack...hehe...try to sneak in a lunch workout might help, just my 2 cents.

Char-Char~ are you a working girl today?

I have got to run and eat before DD wakes up, no breakfast yet.

Jana - My workout after work is what I have to look forward to today. I am running at memorial park, which is always much more fun. It is so nice that it is light so much later at night so that I can workout at 7 pm and still have some light.

How's those knees? No, I did not take the job, but I am STILL a working girl...I know how to work it REALLY GOOD!!! LOL!

Here I am! My first "real" check-in post! :p

Okay, I ate a bunch of cr@p on Sunday, too, even though NONE of the stuff had anything even remotely do to with Easter. I'm starting my new S&H rotation from Monday, so well, Sunday,...I guess I'll just call it "mental preparation through cake" Would you believe I was working in a closed room all day with 5 other people and one of them went out and "surprised" us all with a LOAD of McDonald's burgers and fries? Did I mention it was a room that was closed? The place stank like greasy fries alllllll day. I was surprisingly (or maybe not surprisingly) not tempted at all, and just excused myself for a minute and went to buy some grilled fish and a salad. I didn't touch any of that McD! Course it was after that later that night that I ended up downing a bunch of cake. x( :D }( ;(

Anyway...

Michele - big congratulations on your weight loss! That's great!

Char-char - I like fish. Do you think I might like running? Heh. No, I don't think that I would. Or I mean, I know that I couldn't. I mean, really, couldn't.

Diane - you lost 3 pounds before Easter? I'll bet you didn't gain it all back. Just give yourself a couple extra days before getting on the scale!

Marley'smom - are you a runner, too? How can you all be runners and be writing on a hate cardio link, anyway? Isn't running like the ultimate killer cardio ?

Anyway, I did my S&H chest today and it was totally fabulous. I sure missed my weights. And I'm feeling some DOMS already. YEAH! }(

Tomorrow is............................................................................cardio day. I've got one of the few non-Cathe workouts I now use scheduled : Powerstrike. Wish me luck.

Hi girls!

I just got home from running errands and thank God that's behind me! I want you all to know that I went to the grocery store and my fridge is fully stocked with fruits and veggies. Now would one of you PLEASE come over and clean and chop them for me? I haven't done my work out yet but I'll get to it later this afternoon.

Char Char, you crack me up 6 ways from Sunday! And you were right to wonder about the meaning of BS because it could very well stand for Bull Sh*t--lol! Good luck on your runs, and by all means, check in on your off days. We need you to keep us in line!

Diane, I agree with your plan...I wouldn't weigh myself either. I will say though, that I'm sure you burned a ton of cals with your weekend runs so I'll bet you at least broke even weight-wise. I hope things settle down for you at work a little bit. It sounds like you have a fairly stressful job. Good luck with your run tonight!

Jana, what's up with your knee? It's a good thing you're getting it checked. Let us know what the doc says.

August, it's great to see you back here and I think you're going to fit in very well. Kudos to you for avoiding the McD's crappola. Cake is my weakness. I love cake...all cake:p }(

Robin, I think lately your body has been telling you to rest quite a bit--lol. But you're right, we all need to listen to our bodies.

Well, my knife and cutting board are calling me. I better clean up those fruits and veggies to make it easy for me to grab and eat, otherwise I'll be dipping into the cany dish.

It has been a long day already. I decided to go for another marathon today and pulled out the windsor borning a** pilates just for some extra ab work. She is soooo boring, but the workout is decent for the abs.

Michele~ yeah I will come over and chop for you if you come over and cook for me, and then clean the house too. I am still cleaning all the pots and pans for yesterday. Had to cook for 12 people and man I was cooking all day....I will not mention what we had to eat...somethings are better left in the "pantry", get it not closet but pantry..heheheee...little humor for you there....did you get it yet? Have you said "oh, ok I get it now".....I swear ever since I saw that movie with the aliens the one with Mel Gibson the M.Knight Shamalanammmananaannn (sp?!) movie, can't remember the name of that movie, but he locks the alien in the pantry and Mel cuts off his finger, any way I have been afraid of pantries since then....where am I going with this????

Diane~ girl, throw the scale out, they are evil. The lie. No, don't feel bad it was a holiday. Just put on a Madonna CD and dance around to it for about 30 minutes should burn off some xtra calories. That's what I do when I feel a little pudge, it helps. Plus its fun. You have been working really hard so we all need a break. Good job on the running, what are you up to now? How many minutes? Do tell!

Char-Char~ what happend to the job? I need a new yak, one of ours, well had a little accident. DH went out fishing in the bay and got stuck about 2 miles from where they launch due to mud and had to wade 2 miles back through mud and had to leave the yak so now we are down to only 1 and he is trying to steal mine. Told him no deal. You would think someone who has been fishing for 25 years would know better than to launch out when the water is low...but no....ding dong.

Damm just got the Lionel Richie song stuck in my head now..stand by must be song on for distraction......ohhh a little Jack Johnson, much better....where was I??? Ok, yes I do run/walk and yes I hate every single second of it. I have to wear one of those really tight sports bras for no bounce and I think I crack a rib every time I strap that thing on. Good golly I can't even breath with that thing, but hey I don't bounce...see why I hate every second of it.....I would much rather be lifting weights, no bounce there.......Good job on the MickieD's I would so have eaten it. I live near Chick filet' and oh lord I want a #1 ever time I pass by that place...but I stay strong and just pass on it...oh it's painful...so I feel your pain...good girl! hehe! Pat on the back!

All right I am off I must go finish cleaning my dam kitchen, load #3 for today...I am never having the in-law's over again, they mess up my clean house, who do they think they are???

How's everyone for a Monday? Diane~ no heart attack today I hope. It's fregging hot out there drink lots and lots of water if you run in the park today! Oh I miss the park!

Yes, I just finished my work out. Just now...it's all done. Did yhou bring me a donut? I don't see one. I would like a donut now, with chocolate and sprinkles. Thank you very much!:9:p

What, now it's donuts?!

I finished my cardio. It wasn't pretty. I had to do it earlier than usual, plus I was coming off the week of stretching...during the warmup (Powerstrike), I started thinking about putting in a different workout. Oh, the flailing, you guys, the flailing. :-(

Man almighty but it felt marvelous to force my @ss through the whole thing and finish!

But I ain't never doing cardio early in the morning again. :)


I still can't get over that some of you guys can run.
