I Hate Cardio - Aug 5

August

Cathlete
Morning (for me, at least)!

Finished up my Power Hour...and was surprised to find that when I substituted standing leg exercises for the squats and lunges, I actually really liked this workout! So it was actually the leg portion of the workout that was bringing me down on it! Whadda ya know.

Though I didn't feel like I did much in the leg region.

Speaking of that, Jana, thank you for your suggestions on the workout and what to buy. I have the original step which has two of the thin tiers on either side. Urgh, Low Max is what did you in, eh? I wonder if I did it on just the top of the step (without tiers) if that would be safer.

I took a look at all 7 of the Cathe workouts I was looking at and they all have free shipping, so I'm thinking I'll just go for it and order them since I'll be in the States at the end of the month. When I order them and have them sent to Japan, it's like the sending fee is over an entire workout worth! So in this reasoning, I'm really only "buying" 6. ;)

About the quad exercises, are they ones you mentioned before? One done near a doorway, one done on a bed and one done with the legs above the body? If those are the ones, I took memos on them.......or are those different from what you're talking about? I don't suppose any of these quad exercises are on any DVDs?

Anyway, I certainly trust your judgment - you know about knees, that's for sure. My knees have been better, but the day after doing S&H legs (doing only semi-squats and semi-lunges with no weights), my right knee started locking again when I walked. So I'm just not going to do squats and lunges, and do Cathe floor exercises, Bar Method, Voight's Pilates Ring, and Winsor Buns and Thighs and stuff like that. Sort of disappointing, but it ain't like I liked squats and lunges in the first place, so it's also sort of wonderful! :D

Actually, it's really wonderful! :+

Hey, were you able to sneak in a nap there?

And for the rest of you - how you standing the heat?

Hi Ladies -

Still Friday for me, but thought I would let you know I updated my picturetrail to include some pics of the snuggle fest going on at our house. I am the one with the grey blanket on me.

I just took a look, Diane, soooo cute! They look totally cozy and totally at home.

The yoda one cracked me up.

I found another.

It seems to be everyone's favorite, so how can I pass it up?

Rhythmic Step with Interval Max and MIC

:D

Oh, and Jana, I did notice that you suggested doing the step workouts without a step (or a lower one).

All right. I'd better get to work!

Yikes, Rhythmic Step---not my favorite. I felt like crying when I tried it. Oh, I just cannot follow anything, really.

Cute kitties. I want more cats. I have five and I want more. Nothing in moderation, absolutely nothing.

When I say Imax 2 and abs is an easy day, I mean it is a short workout and I am comparing it with what I used to do: When I was a younger woman, oh, about three months ago, I used to do Leaner Legs and follow it with Imax 2. I think that would just about kill me now. I guess I also felt that I needed to be punished for some reason. Don't know, the mind is a mysterious thing.

Today I did Pyramid Lower, some pushups and back work (I hate upper body) some abs and Cathe's first stretch. I could do more, but..........well, maybe not. I really need to go to the grocery store but my older daughter was terrible this morning and is relegated to her room. Told her to fold the laundry, she whined and cried (not unusual) took 30 mins, told me she was playing on the computer and figuring she was finished I said "fine". When I finished Cathe, I went to get the laundry to put the clothes and towels away and saw that she didn't even fold half of it. She is a lazy child, I have to admit, but really, this was it for me.

Okay, you all have a good day!
Kate
