Ladies, please be careful & pay attention to your surroundings when you're driving. Whether it's your GPS, your cell phone, your factory installed TV/DVD players (or another driver's for that matter)--I'm begging you to turn the damn things off until your car is in park!![]()
Amen to that!
I was in an accident a few years ago when a young woman who was at a stop sign suddenly decided to go without looking as I was coming through the cross street (which had no stop sign). I was quick witted enough to slam on my breaks, so only my bumper got the shock.
When we stopped, she begged me not to call the police and file a report, saying she'd pay for the damages (yeah, right). When I mentioned that the license plate was also dented, she proclaimed "I'm not paying for THAT" . That's when I called the cops. When the police officer got there, he was too nice to her (IMO!), even after she said she just wasn't paying attention.
For weeks after that, every time I came to that intersection (it was on the way home), my palms would get sweaty and I'd feel the 'fight or flight' adrenaline burst kick in.
The intersection was later made into a 4-way stop.
