I got a message yesterday and today I feel like crap!

Yesterday I went for a massage (mom's day gift from hubby & kids) and today I feel lousy. I ache all over. It may be a combo of it being that time of the month and for 3 weeks everyday I have been exercising. I can't help it. I think I'm becoming a Catheholic or something. I have the Pyramids, Gym Styles and Bootcamp and I want to get everything in plus run 3X's a week. Hey, I was feeling good up until that massage. Today I am just no good. Luckily my husband and kids are cooking dinner for me tonight and I just have been relaxing.

Anyone else out there get this way from a therepeutic massage?

I hope you enjoyed the massage as it was happening. Did the massage therapist tell you to drink tons of water? When your muscles are manipulated that way, they somehow get dehydrated. Water will help with that. Also, when your muscles are massaged thouroughly, they will be sore the next day. I'm not sure if this is what your experiencing since you just say you feel like crap.

Just take it easy and drink lots of water. You should feel better tomorrow.

Hi Debbie,

No she never said anything about drinking lots of water. I did take Aleve and I am feeling much better. Yes, it felt great while she was doing the massage. Someone once told me that they are basically squeezing out all the lactic build up.

I will have to remember that about the water if I get another one.

Take Care,
Chrissy

Hey Chrissy --

This happens to me sometimes too. I also look really, really puffy after a massage. Something about being on my stomach for that long with my head in that position seems to make all the fluids flow directly to my face. Not sure what the deal is with me -- but I'm useless after a massage. Perhaps my body is full of toxins and they all rush to my head when I get a massage :) I'm a toxin head!

I've been told that drinking a lot of water really helps to flush out the garbage in your system that gets released as a result of massage.

Sorry...I'm no help here. But I can sympathize with ya.
