I don't post here alot but lurk often and noticed other running posts so decided to share my excitement.

This morning I ran my second half marathon (I've also done one full marathon). It was difficult and I was slower this time. I don't have my official time yet but should be around 2:13 according to my Garmin (last time I did 2:01). I trained with two coworkers this time which was fun. We didn't end up running together as one ran ahead as she wanted to try and break 2 hrs and the other we lost at the port-a-potties at the start line:-( :-( There was almost 13,000 runners so we were never able to find her again which is too bad because I was looking forward to running together. The three of us and our families all went out for a Father's Day Buffet after.

DS (10) and DH ran the Super Run which is 2.6 miles and finished around 21 mins and then stayed to watch me finish.

Now I ready to get back to more Cathe dvds which I have missed and might try the June rotation starting tomorrow. Anyone else doing this rotation?
Kim

Wow, congrats!! I am not a runner, never will be, but I am in awe of those of you who do this type of thing!

You should be sooo proud of yourself -- amazing job!

Kim...congrats on your 2nd half!!!! Don't you love the Garmin!...You did very well IMO. That is way cool your DS and DH also ran the 2.6 mile run. And a great support group for you...:)....I am not doing the June rotation as I am doing a modified P90X one now so can't help you there. But have a great day after a great run and enjoy the family...:)

Thanks Katie!

Carole, I love my Garmin, DH bought it for me for Christmas. I love the freedom of running wherever I want and knowing how far I've gone. I used to run the same routes over and over because I knew the distances. At times though I get too obsessed in checking the pace/distance instead of just enjoying the run. Thanks for your kind words! Kim

Kudos to you! I've inline skated marathons and have always remarked that the idea of running that distance, or even half of it, would never enter my mind...so congrats!

Kim, Kim, Kim!!! The person who *introduced me* to Cathe DVD's!!! Great job, girl!! I think you did awesome!!! I loved my 2nd half marathon, much better than the first and I had a great run. I'm hoping to do another in the fall, I just love the half distance. I ran a 5K this weekend which I haven't done since last year. Lots of fun, no pressure for *real* racing! Now I have the bug again & am ready to run!

I'm finishing up my first round of the X, less than 30 days to go!! I'm not sure what I'll do next....

Yeah to your ds & dh for the super run too! Email anytime!

Hey Jess, maybe we one day we could meet up to run a race together. My friends and I are talking about doing the Minneapolis marathon in the fall of 2008. How far from Minneapolis are you? Kim

Oh, very cool!! I'm actually pretty far from Minneapolis, about 8 hrs?? But only 2-3 hrs from Chicago! My 2 running buddies are running the half & the full in Chicago this year. I had thought about the half, but not decided yet...

That would be awesome to run some races w/ fellow Catheites!! ;-)

Congrats!!! And that's a great time - I can only dream of finishing a half-marathon in 2:13. (My best time is 2:28 - I be sloooooow) Great job!!! :D

CONGRATULATIONS on an excellent 1/2 marathon!!!!! From the sounds of your race report, you had the most perfect day!!!

What 1/2 was it?? It sounds HUGE!!!

So glad you had a great time and you are beaming with pride...you certainly deserve it!!

Great Job!

CONGRATS Kim! I'm only 1 1/2 hours away from Minneapolis, so let me know if you are doing that Marathon. I'd love to come meet some fellow Catheites. The Twin Cities Race is one of the most beautiful!!! Who knows, if my 1/2 in August goes well, I might consider doing it with you next year, too. ;-)

Marcia.

Thanks Emily!

Sarah, it's the Manitoba Marathon in Winnipeg, Canada www.manitobamarathon.com The only race around here so it's big! The editor from Runner's World magazine was a guest speaker so maybe he'll have something in the magazine about it.

Marcia, definitely if we decided to run the Twin Cities marathon next year I'll post and see if any follow Cathe fans want to run together. Do you know anything about that race? I know it sells out fast! Kim

Is there a half also w/ the full??? After my IT band injury, I decided NO more fulls for me. It's just not worth it. That would be neat to get a whole group together!

Sounds great, Kim! I know the race does fill up fast and I'm not sure if it's a lottery drawing type race or not, that might just be the 1/2 or 20 miler that is a lottery drawing. It's during one of the most beautiful times of the year here in Minnesota. It's usually nice and cool, beautiful scenery and yes fills up very fast. Keep checking the website for when it is open for registrations and if you are serious get in right away.
