And boy am I STUPID!!!!! I always have had probs w/ push ups on the floor and couldn't figure it out as I've increased my wts and improved on other chest work, and have been very frustrated in the lack of progress in the push up department. So I was doing my thing this evening and realized my hands are sliding under me, not a lot, but enough to make a difference. I am on berber carpet in the basement. I normally don't take my lifting gloves off for push ups, so I take them off and realize its worse. So I decide to get my yoga mat out, but my hands are too far apart and mostly off the mat, anyway. Then, on comes the light bulb!!! Turn the mat, dingaling!!!! So I moved the mat so I was perpendicular to the mat, hands on the mat, feet on the floor, dropped and knocked out the MM push ups, YAY!!! It only took me maybe 2 years to figure that out. I am either very smart, or incredibly stupid. I think I vote for the latter!!
The sad thing is when I do tricep push ups with my feet on the stability ball, the ball and my hands are on the mat and my hands don't slide. And I don't have probs doing them with my hands on the step. You would think I would have made the connection by now
Feeling a wee bit silly, but have to laugh at myself,
