I feel SO OLD!!!

I loved this book AND the movie. I mean really, how many other movies gave you all these hot young actors at the same time? Yes I had my top favorites, Matt Dillon & C.Thomas Howell. But I never would have turned down Patrick Swayze, Emilio Estevez, Tom Cruise or even Ralph Macchio. You had a little bit of everything.

Marla,

Your comment about my youthful attitude made my day! Thank you.

BTW, I don't feel 50 and I believe it's because I workout with Cathe every day like you guys :)

You'd know Orlando Bloom if you saw the Lord of the Rings trilogy. If you didn't see Lord of the Rings, do run out and rent it!

Isn't it amazing how we females gripe about being so "old"? (I don't hear too many men complaining). I have friends who are turning 30 and they feel old. I tell them to "get over it". You're not even halfway through your life span and you're worrying about being too old at age 30? PUHLEASE!!!

Age is just a #. I look at my mother who is 70 years old and she does not look or act her age. She is a social butterfly and everyone thinks she looks 50. (can't wait to follow in her footsteps)

Honestly, I don't mind getting older. I feel that I am becoming more beautiful, more mature and a much better person w/ every year that passes by. I look at the females in my family and am proud to be part of group of women who age gracefully. Also, look at Michele Pfeiffer and Susan Sarandon. Wow are they gorgeous in their 50's! (and neither of them have had plastic surgery)

I blame all of this on the media that promotes youth as a lifestyle.

On my 50th birthday a couple of the girls did a real number on my cubicle. Anyway, a lot of the younger girls were coming up saying, "Wow, I didn't know 50 could look so good!" Needless to say I was so flattered.

But, when you really think about it. What does 50 look like these days, or 30 or 40? As long as you take care of yourself and not fall into the stereotypical behaviors associated with an older person, you can be young forever!

I went out the other weekend for a drink with a mate. Normal night, expect i felt about 108! Everyone was about 12!!! ok 18 but still, it made me feel soooooo old. And i'm only 27!

"Old woman."
"Man. "
"Man, sorry. What knight lives in that castle over there?"
"I'm 37."
"What?"
"I'm 37. I'm not old."

;)

Oh, I loved that movie. I remember me and my best friend would watch that movie over and over again!

I know what you mean about feeling old and I'm only a newly turned 35. DH, myself, and another couple went to the U2 concert this past Sat. First of all, they are so awesome, but it just seemed so loud. We all looked at each other and said is this loud or are we just getting old!

Then I was talking about the concert at the bus stop and I told the neighbor that I didn't like their new album until I had heard it live. My daughter asked me what an album was. That felt so strange. It did make me feel slightly old!:)

Eileen, I am always perplexed when people think it's a compliment to say that someone doesn't "look or act her age". Just how is a 70-yr. old supposed to look or act? Is she supposed to have a walker and no teeth? I think it's the old-fashioned stereotypes we have about aging that make young people so afraid to age.

When people tell me I look good "for my age", believe me, I don't take it as a compliment. I really think we need to get over our age stereotypes, because they really don't, or at least shouldn't, apply.

Nancy,

I'll take the compliments, LOL! I like it because I work very hard at trying to keep my mind and body young. I feel good when other people notice. Call me vain!
