I dont want to complete P90X...

I am in week 6 right now, and dont really like the results I have been getting I feel like Im eating to much, and feel very bulky.

Plus Im kinda sick of the P90X workouts.

But I told myself when I started this that I would finish it because I always quit things without completeing them, and this was going to be one thing that I would stick with until the end no matter what.

So should I finish it, what would you do... Ive been back and forth, but Im really unmotivated to complete it.

I have tried to do P90x twice, and both times the boredom factor was more than my ADD mind could handle. My husband, on the other hand, has been doing it now for months on end and isn't phased by the repetition.

If you're not happy with the results you're seeing, I'd probably move on since the workouts really aren't going to change from here on out.

just b/c its called working out doesn't mean it has to be work. if you dislike your results and you are bored i would move on. find something else that peaks your interest and base some goals on that.don't beat yourself up for not finishing, its not for everyone. i know i wouldn't like it. i make my own rotations and get bored with them i can't imagine doing the same few workouts over and over either.

I bought P90x as well, it's not nearly as effective as his Power Hour videos. It's alot of hype! STS is so much better, you actually look forward to the next video! P90X is alot of jumping around and relies mostly on the pullups and pushups, not actual lifting. My son is 13 and loves working out with me, but even he didn't like the p90x series. He could do all of them in one day! STS has had so much more thought put behind it, I can't wait until the next one. Wish I had the energy to do them all in one day!

Thanks everyone, I have decided to go back to Cathe where I actually look forward to working out!:D

Do workouts that make you happy :D

AGREED! There are too many workouts out there to enjoy! Why spend time and energy doing the ones you are bored with just for the sake of sticking to a rotation; especially if your not liking the results. I say don't sweat it and get going doing workouts you love to do and what gets you the results your working for.

If you liked the results you were getting but were bored with the work outs I'd suggest trying to push to get through it. Since you are saying you don't even like the results though, I say can it. No need to go any further. What's the point??

As for my thoughts on the X...I completed a full rotation a while back (with some modification/additions) and got awesome results! It's not for everyone though. I definitely agree on the repetition/boredom factor but I am one of the few who actually LIKE Tony's personality in those vids and loved the results I was getting so I pushed through it.

I am currently doing an Insanity rotation. I have another 1 1/2 weeks to go and then I am done. I think the X would be a great follow up to Insanity. Perhaps after countless times saying I'll do it and not following through, I actually WILL do another P90X rotation!

I loved the X, but now that I own STS I could never do a full X rotation again.
I'm keeping my set, but will shorten it to 2 weeks in each phase.

STS has so much variety and is IMO true muscle confusion. Every meso cycle brings something new and exciting. Wave loading, double wave loading, tri-sets. A different workout everyday. :D
Plus, you get to add in your own yoga, cardio, and Cathe's plyo has the X's beat by a mile!!!

I loved my P90X rotation and what it did for my upper body in particular, but I definitely started tweaking things beginning week 2 in order to avoid boredom. I usually skipped the ab workout (known fondly to some of us at VF as "ab skipper"), but when I did it, I'd start to mix it up by using a medicine ball, and/or doing some of the moves while seated on a rebounder.

I also usually did cardio other than the KB workout (like IMAX2 or a Cathe KB workout).

If you decide to do P90X again in the future, you might want to tweak your reps to get more of the results you want. I did most sets as 15 reps, and that worked well for me.

I do love the circuit-type layout of the upper body workouts in P90X, and "Shoulders and Arms" is my favorite upper-body workout of all time.

"P90X is alot of jumping around and relies mostly on the pullups and pushups, not actual lifting."

That "jumping around" is called plyo, and Cathe does her fair share of it as well, LOL!

And while pull-ups and push-ups don't use weights, they are extremely effective body-weight exercises that are also highly functional (one reason why Cathe put them in STS, I'm sure!).
