I don't have a barbell!

I was just wondering if I could perform all or most of the exercises in sts with only free weights. I have dumbbells ranging from 3 to 55lbs but no barbell! I noticed in one of the pics Cathe had a very heavy barbell doing rows...I don't know that I can use the same amount of weight with dumbbells. Any suggestions or should I finally invest in a barbell?

I recently broke down and ordered a troy lite barbell (like Cathe uses) online and then bought wt plates used from Play it Again sports. I'm very happy w/ the barbell! Before I had the bb, when I tried upping my wts w/ dbs for certain exercises (sit and stands for example) I found my shoulders rounding--bad form! I only bought wt plates up to 40 lbs so I know I'll need to go buy more, but it was a very cheap investment. I spent $30 (w/ shipping) for the BB and clips and another $25 for the 40 lbs of wt plates. HTH!

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

My vote would be to invest in a barbell. I found one at Dick's Sporting Goods that included the barbell and plates that totaled 100 lbs and it was just 40 dollars. It's not an olympic sized bar but it is certainly sufficient enough for my purposes. I just have to be careful that I don't drop the barbell too hard because the plates are vinyl and filled with concrete so they can crack easily.
Good luck!

Yup, time to break out the plastic and get that barbell! Once you start using it and find out how convenient and resourceful it is, you'll wonder why you didn't get one years ago!
