I Can't Eat!

I'm not sick healthwise but heartsick to where I don't feel like eating. I am hungry, but nothing sounds good. Have you ever been so stressed that you couldn't eat? That's me right now. I'm going to try to drink a protein drink and do the KPC. I wish I was a regular jogger, because I would then go jog until I collapsed. (And right now that wouldn't be far down the road.)

What's wrong Shirley? You gotta eat. You can't work out if you can't eat! Maybe some chicken noodle soup at least?

I'm the opposite when I'm stressed--I eat like a pig.
 
Max is right. You have to eat. Even if you just chug down a meal replacement shake. I've never had my appetite affected by my emotions, so I can't really relate. Sorry.
 
I sure have ... I call it the Nervous Diet. I've lost many a pound on it. I remember baking a potato and trying my hardest to choke it down while my fat cat was meowing for food. I just ate what I could. The problem is your body goes into anorexic mode and holds onto everything it can, so once you can eat again (and you will, believe me) you stand a chance of gaining more weight than where you started. So just be careful when you start eating normally again not to overdo it. Don't listed to well-wishers who push cookies and high-fat foods on you trying to "fatten you up" cuz it'll do just that. If you get too low on energy to do high intensity workouts, just do what you can and eat what you can. Don't make yourself stress even more about eating when your body is just reacting in it's own way to a stressor. Doing whatever exercise you can will help with the endorphins but mainly time will help. I'm sorry you're going through a hard time, it stinks I know. A high-calorie protein drink will probably be very good for you, just try to stay away from high sugar, that will not help your mood and only give you temporary energy. Shirley, what's wrong?? Anything you can talk about? We're here for you. Unfortunately, I eat more under stress so have no advice for you there. My sister is like you under stress & has been known to lose 5-10 lbs. when really upset. So I know it can be a very real problem.

Hi there Shirley! Sometimes venting can help, too! As Ruth said, we're here, so unload if you can! (you'll be able to run faster without all that weight on your shoulders...);-)

Thank you guys so much for the support. Well, I drank most of the protein shake and now I'm eating pierogies. It just doesn't taste that great right now. Don't get me wrong, I can eat and if you saw a picture of me you can tell. ;-)

As for venting, I wish I could right now. I'm having marital difficulties and until I know more about my suspicions.

On a side note: I did try the KPC and had to fast forward through some parts....mainly the kicks. I love the floorwork though. I'm a big fan of floorwork and hate cardio; but I know cardio is good for me, so I will do it. Or, TRY to do it.
