I bought my first bikini!!!

Well ladies, I am proud to say that over the weekend I purchased my first bikini. And not only that, but it looks GOOD!!! I never thought that I would be able to look at myself in a bikini and think "I look pretty darn good!" Thank you Cathe! We are going on vacation next month to Virginia and are going to go to the beach. For the first time I am going to wear a swimsuit without a pair of shorts on to cover up my butt and legs! It was such an amazing feeling of accomplishment! In the same shopping trip I also picked up my first pair of size 4 shorts! I actually am biginning to enjoy clothes shopping!:7

I still have 5 weeks before our trip to lose the last 3 pounds! I hope they won't be stubborn! Anyway, thanks for letting me share. I'm just really excited!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! What a great feeling for you!

When my Mexico trips are fast approaching and I feel like those last few pounds are being stubborn, I add in 30-45 minutes of EXTRA (meaning on top of all my other scheduled workouts) cardio each day and it always does the trick.

Big congrats!!! I bought my first bikini last year for the first time in YEARS. It's a great feeling to be able to completely visualize all of the hard work you've done and feel comfortable bearing so much skin :eek: :eek: ...heehee!!

Speaking of which...I'm from VA, but haven't been to the beach there in years. I live in SC right now, but am hoping to get back to our home state within the next few months. Do you live in VA??? Or are you just visiting there???

Congrats!!

YEAH!! I am never totally satisfied in a bathing suit .. but it is a great feeling when one fits and you feel good.

I have a trip to Mexico coming up .. and don't plan on going shopping till the WEEK before .. LOL!!

I am just now on the upswing of a knee injury (tear) .. and put on about 5 pounds .. and my exercise is just now to my pre-injury level ...

My friend and I have made a pact to up the exercise trying to loose just a few more pounds before the trip and shop the weekend before. and no matter be satisfied and enjoy our trip!!!:D

I have already had the first bikini shock .. we went deep sea fishing weekend before last (in Florida) .. it was cool but warm enough to have to expose the body .. LOL .. yikes! Not as bad as it was a couple of months ago .. and should be right on target by the time we leave .. LOL!!!!:7
 
Katie - Wow! Congratulations that is so awesome. You're a beautiful woman and I bet you will be burnin' up the beach in that new bikini! ;-) LOL-I would be binging on new clothes too if I were you! Have fun on your vacation!

P.S. - that pic of your daughter steppin' to Cathe is just priceless! I showed it to my teen daughters and they said "oh, how cute!--did we do that too when we were little"? Yep, they did! I still even have the tiny 1 pound dumbells they used to use. Great way to show them good exercise habits early!

Thanks ladies. I knew you would all understand my excitement. It's been a lot of hard work (and I still have more to go), but seeing the results I am makes all the hard work and sacrifice worth it.

Deni - We are going to a family wedding/reunion with DH's family. Now that I've found the swimsuit my next mission is to find the perfect dress to wear to the wedding.

Thomasina - I have done a pretty good job already filling up my closet with new clothes. I still have a little more to lose so I don't want to go too crazy buying clothes and then end up not fitting into those either. But it's definitely been fun! Thanks for the kind words about my daughter. Ever since she was a baby whenever I put a Cathe DVD in she would start bopping around. She was born to be a Catheite. I'm so proud!:7

Again ladies, thank you! I have to say that if it weren't for this site and for all you wonderful supportive ladies I probably wouldn't be where I am today. You're a gift!

Congrats! What a great feeling! I , too got my first bikini. It's from either LLBean or Eddie Bauer. Mine has a little skirt so it hides my not perfect thighs!
