I gave one to my granddaughter and the other six to her school friends and they wore them to school today! :D LOL!!! Click on thumbnail:

I sure miss the first day of school pics. DS is in college and DD is a senior in HS. I think if I tried to get a photo now, they'd think I was nuts!

The children in the picture are absolutely adorable. However, I have a question, or rather a concern about such young children wearing a 10 pound vest just because. Studies have proven that children carrying heavy backpacks is bad for them; for their posture and spinal development and can cause longterm problems. (One study is concerned that children are carrying 4 and 5 pound in their packs)And yet you choose to have them wear a vest (and they all still have backpacks/sacks of some sorts for all their heavy books?) Here's another of the many articles you can find warning of children carrying weight on their backs.

You mentioned another post, maybe since I'm new I missed that and there is a reason for them wearing the vests othe than "just because"? (Studies show children should only carry 10-15% of your body weight on your backs/shoulders)

Please forgive me my concern if this didn't come across correctly. It just worries me in light of all the studies. And again, the picture is adorable.
 
Pssst....it's a joke...those are their school backpacks they are wearing. I think she just wanted an excuse to post the pic, and a great way to lure us into clicking on the thread.:p

I am sorry I cause you to worry! I could totally understand if they were wearing 10 pound vests! You are so right in saying that! But, I was just trying to be silly and had to figure out a way to post my cutie-pie's pic! Don't be embarrased. We're glad to have you here and we all, at times, read certain posts wrong. WELCOME! Don't worry... you aren't the only one! The first time I saw the picture and her post, I thought the same thing. Till I read other responses...

I'm not the sharpest crayon in the box, LOL!
