I am having DOMS several days after

Hi all,

I thought I was not ever going to experience real DOMS, but for some reason they kicked in last evening during my cardio workout.

I still feel them in my upper body today. They are the good Doms that let me know I've worked hard.

I am at Disk 4 (I got sick with a cold and had all that asthma to take care of), so I am behind.

What is it about Disk 7 that is gonna get me good? I am really curious.

It seems that STS is already kicking my butt in a good way!

Disc 7 contains all the pushup segments from Discs 1 and 4, plus some NEW variations as well. I have not done disc 7 yet, but it's on tap for Saturday. I've been studying the workout card, so I know what to expect.

As for DOMS, nothing has given me more DOMS than discs 5 and 6. And I usually don't get DOMS all that much. At first I didn't mind, but then I realized they were affecting my next STS workout. I bought some Epsom salt and have been taking baths and it's helped a lot. I am doing a 6-mo STS rotation. Last week I did discs 4, 5, and 6 and experienced major DOMS. This week, I did those same discs but added the Extended Stretch to my workouts twice this week, and that, too, has really cut down on the DOMS.

Good luck! :)

The best way I've found to manage DOMS is to take ibuprofen before bed after you've worked out. I don't generally get severe DOMS, but after doing disc 10 on Tuesday, my shoulders were feeling it. I was sure I wasn't going to be able to move my arms on Wednesday. So, I hydrated a bunch and then popped two Advil before bed. I was mildly achey on Wednesday, but beyond that - nothin'!! So I'm good to go for disc 11 tonight. Throughout Meso 1 I haven't really had any DOMS - mostly just a dull all-over ache that lets me know I did something, so I've bee lucky! Meso 2 may be another story.
