Over the weekend, protestors to the I-69 project in Indiana attacked and vandalized a satellite office of my husband's firm, BLA, who are involved in the design of the project. Their corporate office has also been targeted, but so far my husband's office hasn't been hit - YET. Understandably, this is a controversial project, but my husband's firm can't help that the government awarded them the contract. It was simple logistics, that's all. And I'm a bit scared that I could come home to find my house and property vandalized because some creeps just wanted to randomly attack BLA employees' homes (see below).
Now, I'm all for people exercising their rights to protest, but I am absolutely, irrevocably against outright vandalism, threats, and attacks. I've posted a link to a website where protestors have posted articles crying for people to "attack" the offices of the firms and government agencies involved, and articles that outright threaten employees of BLA. One article says, "Next time maybe we’ll pay your homes a visit, because we know where you live". This article was particularly threatening toward BLA employees. I know that the offices of DLZ (another firm on the project) in Michigan also got vandalized. And many people in Indiana government receive so many threats over this, I don't know how they make it through each day.
If this angers you as much as it angers me, feel free to post a comment decrying this behavior to any article posted on the linked page. Perhaps we can protest the protestors - turn the tables, so to speak. I'm not asking you to lie, just asking that if you disagree with threatening people's homes and families as a form of protest (and vandalizing property), go ahead and say so.
I'd certainly appreciate it. Thanks for any help you can give.
