I had one done to deal with fibroids/polyps inside my uterus. It was done on an outpatient basis. I felt tired and crampy for a couple of days. Nothing serious in terms of recovery. If memory serves, my gyno described it as your cervix is dilated and a thin surgical tool is inserted into your uterus to "scrape" or "shave" any protrusions that don't belong, like polyps or fibroids. Mine was done for profuse bleeding during periods. FWIW, it worked for about 3 months, then the fibroid grew back and I had a partial hysterectomy a year later which was one of the best things I ever did for my health. HTH and good luck!
