Husband and the loud music

I thought this was funny.

Last Saturday I went downstairs for my Cathe workout at about 8:00am and I like the music loud (years of working out at the healthclub). Afterwards I went upstairs to ask my husband if he could hear the music and if it was too loud. Because I was thinking I could maybe get a few workouts in before work on some days(4:00am might be too early though for me). Our bedroom is directly over the basement. He laughed and said "All I could hear was BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM and then an occasional 'Oh crap' from you or 'I need your energy' ". I guess I won't be working out in the morning huh. Anyway I thought it was kind of funny. I guess you had to be there.

LOL...that is so funny. I work out in my basement, and for some reason the sound travels through the ducts to the 2nd floor bedrooms. My oldest son has told me that he can hear my workouts and that it sounds like some kind of pary! Must be the Woo-hoos!

You know, I'm usually completely silent while doing my workouts, even though there usually is no one home when I'm doing it. I bet I would get a much better work out if I let loose a little and shouted a few 'whoo hoo's or 'give me energy's !!! Does it make you feel a lot better? Kind of like loosening the knot in your stomach when going down a large drop on a roller coaster? Screaming always helps me then!!

What's holding me back? The dog thinking I'm crazy? I'm going to give it a try!

I'm not a "whooper", myself, but I know a few people who really get into it. When I teach, I LOVE to have those types in my class because -- at the very least -- they appear to be having a good time. I'm not sure what's holding me back either, except for the fact that I'm a shy girl and "whooping" just isn't proper :) Whatever! Maybe I WILL whoop-it-up next class (or in my home workout room) and see how it feels!

I also workout in the morning (upstairs) while my SO is asleep downstairs. At first it bothered him a little -- but now he says there is a soothing BOOM, BOOM, BOOM. He says at least there is a pattern! I think the booming is from me jumping, though, not from the music.

Funny!

Hahaha, yup I need the music REAl loud. I can't workout when hubby is home cuz he complains about it being too loud. My son just shakes his head and hides in his room while my girls run upstairs to escape my 'crap' and the noise.

Soon I am going to be going thru this same issue, except my workout will be in the other room, so it will be very difficult to get it booming. I don't know if I will even want to do my Cathe workouts without being able to blare them. So far, at work, I can turn it up pretty loud without people noticing. We'll see....

Funny story though. Tell him to nut up and just take it. Or, he could be like me and wear earplugs to bed....:)

I always turn the surround sound on and crank it up. Makes me feel like I'm in the gym again, too. I also talk sometimes. Mostly it's "Oh come ON, not 16 more squats!"

I also like loud music and have surround sound. My husband came home from work one day last week as I was doing Kick, Punch, & Crunch. He yelled as he walked through the door, "Do you think the music is loud enough?!!" It doesn't really bother him as I've been exercising for years and I used to teach in my late 20s, so he is used to it. And I know from my experience attending class as well as teaching, that you normally put more into a workout when the music is louder.
