I am so mad I hurt my back on Saturday. Either durin pole class or diving in the pool Saturday. I finally went to the doctors today and she said no working out at all for 2-3 weeks maybe 4. I can start walking next week, but that's it. Put me on muscle relaxers and pain medicine.I have been stretching it out but it's not getting better yet, I am so mad I only had four weeks left of P90X I was on the last phase. Figures 3 weeks till we go to the beach and now I can't workout. I am going crazy, today at work everyone was like are you taking the pole class and I couldn't. I don't know what I am going to do with myself. Just needed to vent to people who understand the not working out thing.

Ugh. I'm so sorry you've been sidelined. I know...it sucks.

Just remember ~ the more you rest now, the faster you'll get better. (That's what I keep repeating to myself whenever I'm faced with an injury and the subsequent interruption of my routine.)

During my last injury, I used the workout time for other stuff. I planned little projects around the house (cleaning closets, pulling out old clothes to give away, reorganizing cabinets). I also found some cool books at the library and/or worked on a hobby of mine (quilting or crocheting). Keep busy and next thing you know, your 4 weeks will be up.

The upside: Yay muscle relaxers! :+ I normally don't take anything stronger than Advil (nor do I drink), but when I got a script for muscle relaxers once, I was THE most agreeable person on Earth. :7 Nothing bothered me.

I am new to posting and this forum however I am in the last stages (hopefully) of recovering from a back injury and boy do I know your frustration of not working out. I did something to the right side of my back while doing leg lifts with ankle weights about two months ago. I stopped working out for probably three days and then jumped back in. Then I played softball (which I haven't done for years)and re-injured it. Bottom line, I never rested like I should have and ended up with leg numbness and cramping and possible nerve damage not to mention taking longer to heal. Ice, rest, and soaking in epsom salts at night became my best friends. I slowly started back doing Cathe's KPC and modifying when it hurt. Lots of stretching for my back and hamstrings and then icing my back in the evenings. I am there with you about not working out but in the long run, the rest is what your back needs. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
