HSTA or High Step Challenge?

Hello, ladies of the high step:

If you could only get one of these DVDs, which would it be and why?

Thanks,
Marie

Well, I'm not a "fan" of either, since this just isn't my style of w/o. BUt, I prefer HSC because it flows better and the music is way better than the music for HSTA.

However, I think general consensus here prefers HSTA because it is slightly more intense than HSC, with endless step ups and leg work.

Hey Marie,

I would definitely recommend High step advanced. I have this one and it gives you a good workout. I do not have the other one except for it is on Hardcore Extreme dvd. I only see parts of it, but I've heard it is not as tough as HSTA. I haven't done it, so I'm going by what I hear. Hope this helps you some.

Hi Step Training Advanced is better for the premixes if you would like to separate the lower and upper workouts or the cardio. I love the music in HSCh more. You can go to the mix and match screan and do only the cardios I don't think the upper and lower can be separated very well though. Even some of the lower bdoy work seems to be part of the cardio when done as a total body circuit. It would be hard for me to recommend one over the other as I use both, but mainly for the cardio segments. HSTa does have some very intense strength segments and lots of leg presses on it as someone else already said.

As has already been stated that's a tough one. I did HSC yesterday and got a great workout and felt it today in my chest and glutes. I miss the premixes though. I never do HSTA as is but mix it up and use it mostly for the cardio only premix, 12 minutes of heart thumping cardio, a great add on. If I was looking for an as is circuit workout I would definitely go HSC.

Take Care

I don't have High Step Challenge - but I can comment on HSTA. HSTA was my very first dvd by Cathe - and it is still used by me all the time! I actually LOVE this as a circuit workout (love it) - it will get your heart rate going and keep it up there the entire workout, which for me is critical in circuit training!!!!!

I also love the premixes! The cardio only premix is great to add on to the end of a long jog or to mix it with MIC first half -

The lower body premix is great as it has endless leg work (leg presses)- so I would add this on to the end of legs if you want to super fry them :)

I know people don't like the music of HSTA, but really you are so busy concentrating on keeping up with the leg work and form on upper body that I never really noticed it........hope this helps!

I love HSC! It is a great overall body workout. It flows really well and there is a lot of variety and the time just go so fast. I have HSTA also and I like it, but there isn't as much variety and I get kind of tired of all the step ups. I do agree though the HSTA does have great pre-mixes. I always feel great after HSC!

I didn't like HSTA at all but I don't like endless leg presses. I love HSC because it has great music, more lower body variety/less leg presses, flows better and is just so much fun.

If I HAD to choose probably HSTA b/c of all the leg presses...it's great when you want everything...a little bit of cardio, a little bit of upper and a little bit MORE of lower(read leg presses).

P.S. Now if you ask me this next week I may have chosen HSC b/c of the nice ab section at the end and the band work that gives the strenth work that little bit of oomph!

Good luck with your decision!:7

Thanks to all for your input. I am still waffling, so I will probably buy both! I am a Cathe glutton!

I am just waiting for RS to come off backorder....

Cheers,
Marie
