how to make a photo smaller for email purposes?

I need to convert a photo to a smaller size file so I can email it. This is actually my father that wants to do this. I think he probably scanned an actual photo and wants to email it but the file is too large. He converted to jpg and thought that would be all he needed to do. Still too big. How can he convert, can he convert this file to make it small enough to email?

Is it a computer task or is there a website that will decrease the size of the image to make it emailable. Is that a word??

Are you using a PC? If so, double-click on the photo. This should open up Microsoft Picture Manager. Right-click to open up a drop-down menu. Choose Edit Picture. Choose Compress Picture. Click on the bullet for Email Messages. Then click on OK.

Save the picture to whatever file you want (probably My Pictures).
