How to hypnotize a kitten

Leave your kitchen faucet dripping. }(

Every year I have to leave a faucet running when the temps dip below freezing for longer than 48 hours (cheaper than having a plumber defrost my pipes).

This year, every time I let the kitchen faucet drip, Minnie is mesmerized for at least 30 minutes. It's so cute & goofy.

Laura, that's so cute! My cat, Francis, loves water. He loves to look in the aquarium from one side, and then lean around the corner to see a different angle. He is always sticking his foot in his water bowl, to see if it's still wet. He also likes to stick his feet in our glasses of water (we have learned to put our hands over the top if he is coming near). He used to like to sit outside the shower while someone was in there, but SO throws water over the top of the curtain, so he doesn't get too close anymore. And, he will reach in the toilet to touch the water if we don't keep the lid closed.

I'm so glad you got a kitten. They are endlessly amusing.

Hi Laura,

Our little Higgin loves to do this as well, but she is fully grown. It is just the cutest thing. We have a picture trail of this. We call it The Water Drip Torture Chamber. I wonder what they must be thinking in their minds to be so fascinated like that? I just love our animals, they are so precious.

The idea is to die young as late as possible.

I used to put an ice cube in my cat's water and he would spend forever trying to get it out of there. He hated getting wet - even his paws. He jumped in the bathtub with my mom one time and then in the sudsy dishwater in the kitchen. He jumped right back out once he realized he was wet. They are funny aren't they?
