How strong are all of you

I mean how much do you squat and lunge when you are doing Cathe's leg workouts and how much do you squat and lunge with Slow and Heavy? I am believing most of you are reallllly strong!

Well, I usually avoid a lot of talk about weight because it takes a lot of time and I always feel like it may be discouraging to others that have not been working out as long. It is an attainable goal and I look at is something to work toward when I see someone who uses higher weights than I do. I usually use 75 lbs on S&H leg workouts with 80# db for the plie squats as they dont have to go over my head. I go heavier if I use the Bowflex for the squats with the attachment. Again I will say we are all individual and I have seen pics of others that use lower weights with awesome physiques. My low leg weight with a barbell is 45# on endurance workouts. It moves up with different workouts.

you are my hereo.
Someday.
Just want to say you look awesome.
You make me not afraid to go heavier and bulk up too much.

I do 40-50 on most of Cathe's leg tapes, but 70 on PS Legs and S/H. But on Leaner Legs, just 40!!

I have never attempted the exercise with anything more than 30 pounds because my equipment maxes out at 15# DB's right now so I have no idea how strong I truly am....I rarely even use 30 # though because my legs bulk fast and I don't want that so I usually stay pretty light with my leg work anyway...

I use a LOT more weight for squats than I do for lunges. But I'm just not comfortable having more than 45 lbs. on my shoulders at any time, so even at my strongest, that's my limit.

Mogambo, is that you??

Thank you. I always feel like there are new goals to reach. For me Cardio has been a goal lately. Now I am working back into heavy weights. Maybe I can move up who knows?? I have been doing this many years and look for new ways to get results.

Mogambo, I just watched Open Water with my DH last night, so your picture is totally freaking me out!!!

(I still think that it is a lovely picture, though! ;) )

Right now for regular squats - on all tapes - I do 50 lbs. I can do 60 if I plan ahead and strap my ankle weights around my waist.

Plie squats - depends on my mood. Sometimes I do the 50lb with barbell, other times, I do 30 lbs with dumbbells.

Lunges - 30 lbs.

Leg presses - usually 30 lbs.

I want to go heavier, but I guess I need a weight vest or something.

Me strong like bull :+

I use about what Cathe uses on most exercises. Sometimes I go a bit heavier and sometimes a bit lighter, depending on the exercise. I notice that I tend to be lighter on chest and back adn that if I match her on back, I feel some strain later in the day or the next day. I am almost at about my limit on most for the weights that I now have in my home. So, that leaves me about about 30 lbs. for squats and deadrows, 25 for lunges, 25 - 30 for biceps & triceps and 20 - 25 for shoudlers on my barbell and dumbbells anywhere from 3 - 20 pounds. I find that when I am doing straight lifts without all of the "fancy" moves (like low ends, etc.), I can lift heavier.

It's totally a personal thing.

My chest is the weakest part of my body and that is o.k. by me as I have been benching with 50# lately. I can go higher, but I can't keep up with the higher reps with Cathe. I don't want my chest to look too muscular and to lose the twins as well. :p However, I can do squats with 90#, but only about 12 times, in the proper seated form. Plie squats I like to use about 60#. I like to do walking lunges with 30#. I do lat pulldowns with 70# now in 6 sets of 8. Curls with 50# now...hope I can always maintain that for now....55# is my targeted goal for curls. I use 30# barbell over head for seated tricep presses.
My goal is to continue widening my upperbody. Get stronger arms and to continue strengthening my core area. Lower body: tight/lifted butt and muscular legs. So far I have gained 1/2 inches in my thighs.

For Slow & Heavy I squat with 40 pounds and lunge with 35. For plies, a 40, like Cathe. I use super strict form and I go below 90 degree angle in squats sometimes. (Shhh, don't tell anyone. LOL) It works for me, though, and it doesn't bother my knees.
